STUPID GAME CRAZY

i called before i left for lunch to make sure they had them in, the guy goes "uhhh yeah ummm there was a shipping error and we got the game in, but we didn't get the bundle. it'll be in tomorrow...or the next day...but we'll give you $10" thanks jackass. ruined my whole day and offered me all of $10 off on something i've already paid in full for.

i had been loyal to them b/c i got my wii from them last year just before christmas. fuck that shit.

Game was pretty sweet. We got done aorund 4ish but we switched instruments the whole night. So far I don't like the new guitar but mainly due to the fact that I've played the GH one for so long now. The difficutly wasn't hard at all on the first 5-6 songs. I had to put it up to expert on bass and guitar. I can't wait to finally play most of the night and actually delve into the World Tour feature.

we only had 3 people last night, so we tried to make one person singer/bassist (i know you don't have to do this)

it was hilarious. we failed mostly from laughing too hard to sing right. we also had fun trying to keep the mic close without a stand and hold a guitar at the same time. (i think you can use a headset for that, but we didn't know that)

as far as singing goes, it really helps to know the song beforehand and not try to play bass at the same time

already worth the $170

Holy carp I suck at the kick pedal. I'm decent at the actual drumming, but I cannot seem to separate my feet from my hands.

And I can't figure out why I suck at singing so much. Unless it actually rates you on how bad you sound. I seem to be making it do all the dips and all that. Seems kinda random to me, but that's the part of the game I explored the least.

Also, I thought the Les Paul controllers were sensitive to unleashing star power, the Fender is way worse. Anything even remotely over the horizon and the trigger gets hit. It's kinda ridiculous. I have a feeling I'll be sticking with my x-plorer for tough songs.

Overall, even with the minor gripes, this game is still pretty awesome.

It's a little white box with a power plug and stuff. I think it also had some mic adapters.

Assuming you got the xbox version...

The hub only come with the 360, and it's in its own little box in the main, big box.

The pedal is easy to get used to if you don't jump in on medium, hard or expert. It is used sparingly enough on easy to help you become comfortable with using your limbs independently.

Last night around 6:30, I was ranked fifth on the bass for the song "Should I Stay or Should I Go;" but this afternoon, I dropped to tenth. Haha, I guess that's what happens when more than 100 people are playing the game.

yep i got 360 version... just double-checked all my boxes... no USB hub or AC adapter
i do have an HD-DVD drive which has 2 USB ports on the back so w/ that and the normal 2 on the front of the 360 its not a problem i guess

supposedly you can use a normal USB hub that doesn't require software installation. Harmonix said they had to include a powered hub to meet Microsoft standards.

Yeah, we had a lot of fun getting used to the game, so I'm sure tonight we'll get right into it. I really like the solo things and the drums are awesome. I'll probably up it to Hard or Expert tonight.

I actually did decent playing the drums on Hard last night. Granted, we were playing the first easy songs, but it was still pretty tough getting the foot pedal down.

Drum fills are pretty fun.

The jam session at the end of a song is awesome, everyone has a blast mashing buttons and stuff.

Has anyone had any success trying to use the rock band guitar as a 2nd guitar in GH3 on the 360? It seems that the GH3 guitar works well with Rock band...just not the other way around unless I'm missing something.

supposedly, if you can play the Rock Band drums on expert, you can really play the drums. The biggest difference is the high hat is straight instead of crossed. That was done to help non-experienced drummers.

I just finished playing all afternoon with me on drums and my wife as singer or guitarist.

We had a blast.

THE FENDER STRATOCASTER IS A PIECE OF SHIT

There is a 115 (!) ms delay between the time I hit the strum bar and the time it registers in the game. "Well dur.. you set the lag in the game problem solved." Couldn't be more wrong. The fret buttons don't have the delay, so if the lag is set you're basically fucked when doing hammer-ons and pull-offs. You have to strum, wait 115 ms, then do you hammer-ons, which is confusing as fuck, because the music won't agree with your button mashing (but the notes will line up).

The game works fine with the Explorer controller though. The drums are kinda hard. You have to hit pretty hard for it to register. I keep screwing up with the bass pedal though.

I've been playing the game for more than a week and haven't had an issue with the guitar.

The drums are fine to me too; of course, I beat the shit out of them.

Im not having any issue with the guitar, drums, or mic.

Ive been beating the shit out of the drums all afternoon too. I was sure i was going to break them when i first set them up, but they are a lot sturdier than they seem.

Green Grass and High Tides absolutely ruined me on Medium (drums)

I think the only way I'm going to be able to unlock everything is on guitar(on expert, of course )

i dont like the guitar all that much but in fairness im giving it a real chance and trying it for now...

let me ask this, how do you get more songs to play in world tour mode? like how do you unlock them? do you have to play through single player first?

also, are the downloads up yet?

haha well yeah, the drumset is the only instrument to even come remotely close to simulating the real thing so that by far will be the hardest to pick up. And yes, having two hands and a foot potentially doing all different rhythms in some parts of the song will require a good bit of skill to pull off.

k, i got my money back from gamecrazy and bought it at best buy.

i love the drums and the guitar took some calibration...it seems a little touchy compared to guitar hero iii.

my one complaint is that i cannot get the mic to work. i plugged it in, and it doesn't show up. i've tried all 4 usb ports on the front of the ps3 but nothing works. do i have a faulty mic or have i overlooked a switch or button somewhere? HALP!!

Also, you just use a regular 360 controller as the controller for the mic person.

(You probably know that, but thought I would throw it out there)

the only way for the mic to work is to use a controller...you need one to select stuff, durrrrrrr

the drums definitely take some getting used to, but all in all I love this.

^^ well if we're using the guitar or the drums to select stuff then it is not immediately obvious that you need the controller for the mic...durrrrrrrrr
