I always get their ribs. Their bbq is good, but I think the ribs are better.

Last time I was there they were completely out of biscuits and only gave each table 6 hushpuppies because they were running low. c'mon man

Ate at Coopers a few weeks ago, and it was pretty mediocre. The Pit was better.

Anyone ever been to Dickey's (right across from Cooper)?

I always get the brisket when I go to The Pit now. I've had their fried chicken before and it was above average. Their bbq is great too

I'm a big fan of The Pit

And Pete Jones in Ayden, NC is definitely the best. Ask BottomBaby I'm sure she's had some.

The BBQ is pretty close at each place, but the sides at the Pit are significantly better imo

I love Cooper's
I love The Pit

Time and a place for both. If I'm recommending to someone an authentic NC barbecue experience, though, it's Cooper's.

Isn't it Skylight?

Anyways, I particularly enjoyed the homophobic pamphlets on the check-out counter.

Thank you for this information. I will likely do exactly this in the coming days.

Then maybe go to Cooper's next week to make up for it.

It's a barbeque fact not fiction, wood cooking smokes the competition.
