"uit so i really don't know why i am responding haha. BUT here are my thoughts:

1. land's end is a good company so it seems as though their suits would be durable
2. when i swim laps (i was a swimmer) i only wear the speedo suits which clearly survive chlorine but they aren't cute at all. with that suit you could use it as a lap swimming suit or it could just be a suit for like, the beach or anything.
3. this is probably common sense but (most) bathing suits do ok with chlorine as long as you rinse them out in cold water after! i thought everyone did this but some people have called me weird for it so maybe they don't. i always just jump in the shower in mine and take it off and hang it up in there.

i'm glad you are going to swim laps!!! it is such a great form of exercise. total body. and easier on the knee/hip joints than walking or running.

oh but also if you are going to be in the pool you might want to also pay special care to your hair. hair is what i'd be worried about more than a suit chlorine is NOT nice to hair!!"

#1: my thoughts as well
#3: That's what I thought, but I rinse my suit both at the pool, when I shower right afterwards, and again when I get home, and man, the elastic is just dying ALL OVER that damn suit. It's not too small, and I thought maybe I'd popped some elastic one day when I was in a hurry...then I noticed it was even coming out of the fabric on my boobs.

My hair is actually faring pretty well. The only chlorine removal shampoo I was able to find was a suave kids 2-in-1, but two washes with that, and then conditioner, and my hair is fantastic, still.

I'm also religious about wetting it with regular water beforehand, as well as wearing a swim cap.

VS is having a 40% off sale plus additional off. You'll have to look on slickdealz.net for the specific coupon codes but I know I saw them the other day.

I really need a new bathing suit. I was 50 pounds heavier the last time I bought one.

I hate shopping for one though. I am comfortable with how I look in a bathing suit (as long as it is a one piece). It's just that I can never find one *in my price range* that has enough support for my girls. My breasts are either flopping all over the place or smashed as flat as possible.

I've got this one in all brown

I also have another halter top bikini with a pink floral print on it.

I'm a fan of the halter top, but I'm very picky. I cant have a tie back or neck. The neck digs in b/c my boobs are heavy, and the back hurts when I lay down. Same thing with the bottoms, the tie tend to dig in. I stick with the halter tops with closure clips and full coverage bottoms.

I also tend to buy bikinis that certain models are wearing.
Example:

her boobs looks totally awkward in this bikini, but it's a better example of what larger boobs look like.

I have realized how much I now hate the triangle on a string suits. But that's pretty much all I have from years past. I finally found a new one I liked enough to buy yesterday. Any good places you all know of to buy some that aren't almost sold out or crazy expensive?

Target!!! Serial...it's a good way to try different styles and not pay $Texas.

Once you find a style you like, you can try some of the more expensive brands! Plus Target always has some on sale at this time of the year!

I went there yesterday! They only had like 10 pieces left and the ones that would have actually fit me didn't have a matching set

[Edited on June 30, 2008 at 11:32 AM. Reason : I'm thinking maybe Old Navy?]

What's 'expensive'?

Sears and Macys both had a fair number of suits left Saturday; that Swim and Sand place was very full.

The department stores are good when they start putting the suits on sale. I wear one-pieces so they're usually more expensive, so that's what I'm basing my knowledge off.

Old navy would work too! Good call.

What Target did you go to? Maybe Ross and TJ Maxx too!

I don't really want to pay over $100 for a suit, and it seems like most department stores and such that sell separates only have ones that are $50 or more per piece. Which is why I have been trying to find one at places like Target, but every place I've been to that has cheap ones is down to XL and mismatched ones.

I tried Ross yesterday. The Target was the Brier Creek one.

Try the Cary one or the one at North Hills...I've always had good luck finding sizes at those, when i couldn't at others.

I'm definitely not buying a suit without trying it on.

^^^^ Yeah I never understood paying that much for a suit.

If you go to Kohl's they sometimes have good sales on their suits.

I usually drop like $200-300 on VS online, and then try everything on. Anything I dont like, I send back, and they only take $6 off my refund. So it's like paying $6 to try stuff on

the VS near me doesnt have bathing suits or a decent selection of lingerie. I swear, half the store is perfumes and body sprays. not to mention, the lingerie they do have in store is for C or smaller.

That's where I actually found one It was a pink and brown flowery pattern with a top that has a cute criss-cross tie in the back. It's not my favorite thing in the world, but I do like it and it was only $30.
