didn't we see bill talking to that dog at one point or was it just a similar dog - it's been pretty obvious that he's a dog/werewolf for quite some time

How is the transition from book to tv? Are they leaving much out/changing lots? Or is it pretty much exact/dead on like 30 days of night?

you'd think they would've at least mad the dog a husky or something remotely wolf-like, as opposed to the sheepish little terrier or whatever it is

^^ From my understanding it is changing a decent amount from the books but sticking to the core storyline, mostly just expanding other characters subplots and stuff.

Asking again -
How far into the books is the series right now? Is it still on the first book? 2nd? etc?

I would've liked some explanation as to how Bill killed the vampire... I thought the stake through the heart only worked if the vampire was weakened. Maybe different rules apply when a vampire kills another vampire?

^Yeah it is probably different for vampire vs. vampire. Bill is a lot stronger than a human so he could probably drive the stake further.

i love how every different vampire movie (or series in this case) has their own interpretations to the 'rules of the vampire'....from reactions to silver, reflections in the mirror, crucifixes, to Hep B for christ sake....

I too am a fan of lizzy; it's just hard to take her seriously with her top on

I thought what he was saying was that there was no way a human would be fast enough to actually stake a vampire. It would still work but the vampire would have to be weakened to let it happen.

I think it would be a nice job to come up with trippy sex scenes involving a hot chick.

episode 9 was awesome. i'm so happy they finally confirmed my suspicions that sam was the dog. now the question is - what will bill's punishment be? i can't believe there's only 3 episodes left in the season.

In the books, Tara doesn't play that big a role, and we definitely don't hear anything about demons or exorcising, and I'm pretty sure her mom isn't alive either, nor does Tara sleep with Sam.

Also, her brother doing V and meeting Lizzy never happened in the book, so it'll be interesting to see what they do with that and the vampire they captured in the show.

So basically anything to do with Sookie, they're sticking to. Anything not to do with Sookie is fair game.

So what you're saying is all of those unimportant characters you just mentioned have nothing to do with the murders.

Thanks for the spoilers, bitch.

um no, I wasn't saying that at all. So stop being a douche.

And in the book Sookie asks the same thing and he says he didn't want to get his clothes dirty. I'm sure he didn't expect to see anyone as soon as he got up.

Ooooh BIG SPOILER!! Better "ban" me

I'm glad they came out and made it obvious that Sam was able to turn into a dog. I was worried they were going to give us all these blatent clues/foreshadowing and then try to pull the rug out from under us with something lame.

hmmm, couple wtf moments

were they killing or turning that girl, and, either way, why were they doing it? just for kicks or did she do something?

wtf was that woman in the road and what was with her?

i thought she was with a pig from the sound of it

i assume there is more to the turning process and that is supposed to be the cliffhanger - otherwise there wasn't a huge cliffhanger like every other episode

overall one of my least favorite episodes

they made it pretty clear that they were turning her. they said that bill had taken away from their already dwindling numbers, so she would have been a replacement

i thought there were a couple of pretty damn big cliffhangers- seems like we were just about to find out who the killer is (although they'll probably pull some bs and we won't), and then what the fuck was up with the dirty woman and her giant pig in the middle of the road, it showed a closeup of her face and she was smiling, so it seems there is actually something more to that, not just some random thing

If you slow motion the scene with Sookie in the dark bar at about the point where the killer pops up from the other side of the bar and grabs her it's pretty obvious who it is

The black is alright...but would definitely be much hotter if she wasn't so buff. I mean...she's not even thick...she's "solid." She does have the potential to be hot (although I'd tape her fucking mouth shut with that accent).

I thought last night's episode was by far the best one of the season. Tons of drama and good story lines going on.

I really, really hate this hippie chick. I hope she goes down in flames soon.

I mean theres only so many people left who could be the killer. Sam looked like a good candidate a while ago but not anymore obviously after last night. I think they are setting it up to be a more minor character, the other guy who works in the bar seems to be ideal in my opinion. I hadn't put the connection together before that he was related to the cop, but the mention of the Balfours being an old family last night seems to be a good clue. Maybe they have a history of being anti vampire and are taking it out on women who sleep with vamps.

Maybe the cop is the killer? I can't really see much motivation behind it, but it would be unexpected.

Yeah, the guy who is the cousin/(brother?) to the cop and works at the bar seems like a good candidate. Maybe even the cajun guy marrying the redhead, that would be a surprise and he plays a role that is minor, but large enough to get a feel for him. I think I may download it and try to find a frame where I can tell during the attack at the bar.

unless they are going to do one of those infuriating things where they lead you to believe the killer is someone who know, then say OH HEY, NO, IT IS THIS OTHER PERSON WHO IS EXTREMELY FRINGE OR COMPLETELY NEW, unless that, then there are only 2-3 candidates, i would say (sorry for the run-on).

i think the only male characters left that havent essentially been exonerated are the 2 cops (the sheriff counting as fringe at this point), renee, the third guy in the renee/jason/? combo, and the veteran at the bar.

i guess jason could still be a suspect in his grandmother's death (as hinted at in the preview for next week) but i think he can be eliminated for the others. that said, i guess it is obvious that grandmother killer and killer of other women are not necessarily the same person, but still could be...

HBO picked up True Blood for a second season by episode 3 I think it was.

I really liked when Sookie and Sam were talking at the beginning of the episode and we find out that there are werewolves and other unmentioned creatures to come.

I hope we see more of Zeljko Ivanek.

Well so far we know there are vampires, shape shifters and werewolfs. Though based on Sam's description of a werewolf I wonder if they are just shape shifters gone wrong in the trueblood world. Also keep in mind Sookie has to be something as well, theres no way she is a normal human.

^ Yeah, apparantly he doesn't like women comingling with vampires... which would explain why he's been giving sookie a hard time for being with Bill. Also, Jason was telling him that Amy is using V and has probably been with vampires, which would explain why Rene would want to kill her

I haven't read the entire thread or anything, but has anyone mentioned how good the title sequence is? HBO generally has some good ones, especially with The Wire, but this one is the best. Its pretty creepy but perfect for this show.
