I don't know of any cover charge.

The dress code is basically don't dress like a bum. You've heard things about this place. Just dress to the standards you think are appropriate from what you've heard.

Specialty drinks are at least $8. Beers are no more than $5-6. Regular drinks are probably around $5-7.

Does not dressing like a bum mean you have to wear long pants? Because no one has mentioned shorts as being appropriate.

The dress code is plastered all over their webpage, can't copy and paste b/c of flash. Go read it if you really want the details. But yes , it does say no shorts. No jerseys, chains, sneakers, flipflops, etc...

This place looks really nice; I'd like to hang out on the 3rd floor some night to check out the sights, but I'm not willing to drop hundreds of dollars to do so. I hope that it does well. I met Niall one time and he seemed really nice and cool.

I'm surprised no one else has posted it yet, all you damn young 'uns, but I'm pretty sure that chocoholic is in two of the pictures on page 3.

They're letting everyone up on the roof Mon-Wed if anyone wants to go up there and have a drink or two. The 2nd floor is sadly closed until Thursday.

Still confused about a few things...

Why are they closing certain levels on certain nights? Does this mean that only 2 out of the 3 floors will be open on a given night?

1st floor: main restaurant...

2nd floor: lounge area and bar

3rd floor: rooftop bar and lounge?

So I could go there with my wife and enjoy a nice dinner on the first floor and not feel like i'm at a club/bar right?

The restaurant and rooftop are open 7 days a week.
The 2nd floor is open thurs-sat. Probably because the 2nd floor wont really draw a crowd in the beginning of the week and they dont want to bother staffing it sun-wed.

You can do this any night of the week. The first floor is a restaurant first and foremost.

The weekend can be pretty hectic and you aren't guaranteed to get on the roof. If you're just going for dinner you might shoot for before Friday.

how the hell do you spend $6 million in Solas? God damn. For that price, I'd have the walls, floors and ceilings plasters in LCD screens from top to bottom.

At first I heard 5 million, then 5.5, now it's 6 million to build it. The building price just keeps going up!

^^ it's pretty easy to do when you figure in all of the costs of the architect and design team (lots o planning & work), construction, permitting, electrical, voice/data, and then fixtures and furniture. i'm sure that furniture alone cost them a pretty penny.

According to the website, it's only $10.

Don't know why the valet would've said $20 though.

they are the ones that ask the most. the design team could be full of hacks and the architect could leave this project to his interns and put his name on it, but they would still ask for $2-3 mil.

10 dollar cover......don't like it, but its doable. Its hard to say how long I'd be paying that before it got over run by guidos.

The roof can be rented out for private parties and sometimes it's just filled to capacity and impossible to get up there unless you know the owner or have some amazing tits. The lounge is still a pretty sweet place to be hanging out though.

^^clearly if the roof is full they can't let more people on, but it sounded like normally they would only let a select few on the roof

It wasnt fatty related. Someone dropped a glass and it cracked/broke/shattered/not sure one of the glass tiles.

Pretty sure it'll be fixed by tomorrow.

The 'cabanas' are 10-12 person sections, so coming up with a $500 between 12 people isnt all that hard. (usually reserved in advance) And the minimum is to keep like 2-3 people form taking up an entire section. I think its a good idea. Im not sure if they're enforcing the minimum tab on weekdays or not. I think its only thurs-sat. Dont quote me though.

I think the roof was full or private on thurs. Couldn't get up there (unless you had some amazing tits).

For the amount of bartenders, the service was AMAZINGLY slow. They weren't busy enough to ignore customers, but they were. I guess they were working out the kinks? At least the drinks weren't watered down.

i'd like to check it out, but i think it's a bit too pricy for me. and i'm not a dance scene person so the 2nd floor would be insane for me.

that, and i need someone to translate the menu. i can't imagine how most of that even tastes.

I was REALLY excited to go because I've been to some insane clubs in nyc, vegas and san diego...BUT it was the WORST experience in my life. or one of them.

We got there at like 10:30 and waited over 35 minutes just to get in. We checked out the 1st floor which looked decent.

Then we wanted to go to the next floor to find out more waiting. it took us 15 minutes to get up to the 2nd.

It was crowded and then we wanted to see the final floor but was told we couldn't and to check back. We checked back twice and the guy was like no. My friend wasn't having that so she spoke to an employee who got a manager and was finally taken up to the 3rd floor. Which was not crowded as we thought was going to be. The 3rd floor by far was the best.

but overall I love the venue but hated every minute I was in there. Like I said be prepared to wait and wait some more when you get in. The staff we dealt with was crappy. The crowd was even crappier. It was older mid life crisis men and women in their mid 30s to early 50s. Not to mention the men were creepy as fuck and kept grabbing you to get your attention, who got attitudes when you brushed them off. Overall the crowd fucking sucked it was a horrible mix and you get violated a lot.
I WILL NOT be going back in a really long ass time.

I've been to a lot of clubs in my life because I love going out and this was the worst exp. by far. not worth the $10 and the wait and the chance of not going to all floors. (which they should have told us to begin with)

Don't mean to offend the people who work there but it wasn't what I expected and I didn't enjoy this at all. I just don't think Raleigh is ready for a place like this. Like I said awesome venue very trendy, but everything else was shitty as hell.

^^ Lol, based on your experience this could actually be a good thing. Think about it. If all the d-bags congregate at this one club/bar on Glenwood then everywhere else is golden.

I know alot of the rich "old raleigh" set are interested in it, and waiting for the younger crowd to die down. alot of them rent out sullivans private room and think that the third floor of this new place would be waaaayyy better. We'll see.
