b) Regardless of the what I wind up doing the other party is not a fucking lifetime criminal nor someone who (as mentioned in above quote) the type of person you would expect to do this (and wouldn't be expected to do it again). He was hammered drunk and (obviously from pic above) I ruffed him up pretty good and he wasn't in the right state of mind.

e) I am going to do what is in the best interest of myself and myself exclusively. This all developed because I was trying to help a drunken "friend" get his ass home safely. I'm a damn good person and don't want the kid to rot in a cell for the next few years (at the moment). We all make choices as to who we associate with and the decisions we make. I made a poor choice in the way I handled the situation. Not as if the kid is wondering the streets with a pistol looking to shoot someone. If anyone in the future winds up in a similar situation they will have a choice to make and hopefully they will be a little more rational than I was (in the long run).

one pellet is not going to cause too much trouble. Plus, shotgun pellets travel at a slower speed than rifle or pistol bullets and arent made to expand like "bullets". One buckshot is like being shot with a much larger BB.

a very small hole. I have shot plenty of deer with buckshot at extended ranges. 40 to 50 yards. And never found them because a shotgun is so ineffective at these ranges. (unless you have the right choke).
