Why do you hate the Red Sox so much? Just curious...

You really shouldn't get me started, but in a nutshell it's because they're the most annoying fucking baseball franchise in recent history. Anytime you affix 'Nation' to a fanbase, the implications of pure douchebaggery are waaaay through the roof. I'm sick of fucking B hats; worn mostly by Johnston county, Wake Tech students and by chicks that don't even watch baseball (*I'm just a girl, tee hee, I like who my boyfriend likes*). I'm sick of their mostly bandwagon fans and I don't even like most of the people from that area because of how rude, abrasive and dickbaggish they are; especially when it comes to "their" Sox. Anybody who jumps on a bandwagon rolling with people like that are the most nauseating group I could ever imagine when it comes to sports.

Barely avoided getting "Johan'd" again. But, it's a win, we'll take it.

If the Phillies hadn't had any errors it might've gone to extra innings, who knows, but 3 errors that allow a total of 1 run don't hold as much weight when you score 0 runs with your bats in 9 innings. Score at least 1 run before you blame errors on the loss.

and i know you're a mets fan and not blaming a phillies loss on anything, im just saying

What it comes down to is choking when it matters. Delgado would not have been running home if there hadn't been an error, and Tatis would still have been safe at first, so it would have gone to the next batter. But after the error, they could have easily thrown Delgado out at home, except there was hesitation before the throw.

That hesitation won the Mets the game, not the error.

3 things from last night

1. Get the tarps off the bullpens. They look TERRIBLE. Either take them off completely or construct some kind of permanent covering.

2. Santana and Zach Grienkie will start the All Star Game

3. I really don't like how big Citi is playing. Shea played big and this plays much bigger. I like a pitchers park yeah, but unless you hit it right down the line, you have to absolutely kill the ball to get it out from alley to alley. We might not have a 30 HR hitter this year.

I'm ok without a 30HR hitter as long as we keep winning.

I like a ballpark where even Gary Sheffield can hit triples.

Also that SOSH thread is seriously the funniest baseball thread I've ever read, and it's so true.

Santana is the best starter* in the NL

*Among starters who can't make it out of the 7th inning

There is no way to defend Jerry Manuel for leaving Pedro Feliciano in to face Matt Diaz in that situtation

As it was happening I was screaming at the TV to put in Stokes

Feliciano is a LOOGY who struggles against righties...Diaz is a platoon player who rapes lefties and struggles against righties

When your managerial moves are consistently being first guessed by any fan with a sense of basic baseball strategy, something is wrong

^^ Bullshit comeback - umpire blew a huge call in the 9th on Beltran's steal of 3rd. He was CLEARLY out and was called safe. He scored on a fly out after that. If he is called out like he was, Braves win. The Mets did not win shit last night.

until last night.

I'll count it as payback for all those seasons in the late 90s when Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine got pitches called that were a foot outside.

Beltran was out, for sure... but you guys are acting like it wasn't even close. The Braves have gotten some egregious calls over the years against the Mets (Michael Tucker, anyone?) and it was pretty much bang-bang in this case.

Not to mention, though you never get that call if the ball beats you by that much, Chipper didn't tag Reyes in the 8th until he was on the base. He tagged him on the chest like a second after his hands hit the bag...

No one ever likes losing, but tonight was still a good game. I have renewed faith in the team's ability to keep a game close in the late innings. I'm worried though that the 2 extra inning games in a row is going to hurt over the next couple of days.

Another late-inning comeback, 10 wins in the last 12 games, Wright remembered how to hit with RISP, K-Rod has 11 saves in 11 chances, and Beltran is already looking like a favorite for the MVP.

I love this team.
