kinda interesting actually...our fan base are labeled as ignorant rednecks with all the caveman stereotypes, yet we're the first school in NCAA history to embrace gender equality in the form of a mascot, and we're a proponent and advocate of the kind treatment of animals, as is evidenced by the preparations made for Tuffy...the initial hesitation of having a live mascot wasn't the wolf vs. dog debate, since a wolf would unfortunately just be too dangerous, but it was for the well-being of the animal...but since we (the athletic dept) got assurance for the care of the dog, they were willing to go ahead with it

i might be biased since i love big dogs (and the Wolfpack) but I didn't get all the hate for this idea, seems like the higher ups agree
