Do you think Alonso really had nothing to do with it either? I'm sure he knew about it.

most seem to think that renault got off easy because they'd just quit the sport if they got any sort of significant fine or penalty.

Congrats, Hamilton!
Poor Raikkonen.

I'm still happy that Glock (TOYOTA~) made it to the podium in second place!

So, it seems that Alonso will join Ferrari next year...
WHERE IS RAIKKONEN GOING?
Is Jacques Villeneuve really driving for USF1 next year?
Kubica? Heidfeld? Rosberg? Barrichello? Kovalainen? Umm...

^ Yea, probably he will go back to McLaren.

2010 Teams & Drivers rumor/prediction;
Current Team
Ferrari: Alonso & Massa
McLaren: Raikkonen & Hamilton
Renault: Kubica & Grosjean
Brawn: Button & Rosberg
Red Bull: Vettel & Webber
Toro Rosso: Buemi & Alguersuari
Williams: Hulkenberg & (Nakajima)
Force India: Sutil & Liuzzi
Toyota: Glock & (Trulli)

BMW (Qadbak): (Heidfeld) & ?

Nakajima...If Williams switch its engine from Toyota to something else (Mercedes?), he will definitely be gone.
Trulli...He hasn't showed any improvement lately, so there is the rumor that Toyota is gonna get rid of him.
Kovalainen: Have no idea where he is going if he has to leave McLaren.
Barrichello: Have no idea. He may stay at Brawn, but Rosberg will come to Brawn if Raikkonen goes back to McLaren. (Originally Mercedes wanted Rosberg for McLaren.)

New Team
USF1: (Davidson) & (Villeneuve) & (Wurz) & (de la Rosa)..?
Campos: ? & ?
Manor: ? & ?
Lotus: ? & ?

Any comments or opinion?

Glock's option for next year was not picked up by Toyota. He is free to try and find another ride somewhere. He has done very good this year with heavy fuel loads, often starting in the back and coming up through the field. He'll be a great pickup for whoever next year, especially someone like a Williams or BMW (if they're back as Swiss/Sauber) or one of the new teams if they get serious help from one of the existing manufacturers for chassis design and setup.

^I just read an article about Glock.

http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news/detail/090928165305.shtml
Quote :
"A day before his solid second place finish in Singapore, Timo Glock was informed by his Toyota team president John Howett that the option on his contract to include the 2010 season will not be taken up by the team.

The information was reported by the German publications Sport Bild as well as newspapers Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Bild-Zeitung.

A spokesman for the Cologne-based team also confirmed the news, but contradicted those publications who interpreted the move as Glock having been ‘fired’. Rather, he insisted that Toyota's partnership with Glock is not necessarily at an end, but that both sides had been given freedom to assess their options.

"The door is not closed," he added, also insisting that the news has nothing to do with the team's future.

However, with Jarno Trulli's future also in the air, the news could be seen as yet more evidence that parent company Toyota Motor Co.

intends to pull the plug on the F1 programme at the end of the season.

Glock also confirmed the news about his expiring option. "Now I have to look around," he said. "I have several possibilities and I am very confident. Let's see what happens this week."

Sebastian Vettel said he was shocked to hear that Toyota was not automatically renewing Glock's deal, but surmised that his Singapore podium had been "the right answer" to give. "

I understand if Toyota gets rid of Trulli....but don't understand about Glock! He's been doing well!
I will cry if Toyota leaves F1...

Alonso signs three-year Ferrari deal

Quote :
"Today Ferrari has announced a three-year deal starting next season with 2005 and 2006 World Champion Fernando Alonso. The confirmation of such an agreement from the Italian team has been widely expected for several weeks.

Kimi Raikkonen, although his contract covered the 2010 season, will no longer be a Ferrari driver.

"The Scuderia's driver line-up next season will therefore be made up of Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso, with Giancarlo Fisichella in the role of reserve driver," Ferrari's statement reads.

"Kimi Raikkonen will leave the team at the end of this current season, after what has been a rewarding and fruitful partnership, which saw him win the Drivers' title in 2007. He also played a key role in Ferrari's taking of the Constructor's title that same year and in 2008."

Ferrari was obviously very keen to bring 28-year-old Spaniard Alonso aboard, as it has long been obvious that both parties hold mutual interest.

"We are very proud to welcome to our team another winning driver, who has demonstrated his amazing talent by winning two World Championships in his career to date," said Team principal Stefano Domenicali.

"Of course, we wish to thank Kimi for everything he has done during his time with Ferrari: in his first year with us, he managed to win the Drivers' title, thus making his contribution to Ferrari's history and he played a vital role in our taking of the Constructors' title in 2007 and 2008," Domenicali continued, also pointing out Raikkonen's victory in Belgium this year in what is a difficult season for the team.

"With common consent, we have agreed to terminate the contract binding me to Ferrari to the end of 2010, one year ahead of schedule," said Raikkonen. "I am very sad to be leaving a team with which I have spent three fantastic years, during which time I won plenty of races. Together, we have won 50% of the world titles in that period and I managed to take the Drivers' title in 2007, thus achieving the target I had set myself at the start of my career.

"I have always felt at home with everyone here and I will have many happy memories of my time with the team," the 2007 champion concluded.

Raikkonen will complete the three remaining races of the season with Ferrari. It is rumoured the Finn may return to McLaren Mercedes.

The announcement of Fernando Alonso's passage to Ferrari should now open the vanes of the drivers' market, with a cascade effect leading to further driver confirmations from other teams in the coming days and weeks."

http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news/detail/090930164339.shtml

But well....I think Raikkonen will do fine at McLaren... (No More Ron Dennis!)
So, I will pull for McLaren again next year.

It seems that Barrichello is joining Williams.

I wonder why Ferrari wanted to get rid of Raikkonen. Doesn't he usually do better than Massa? But then I guess they don't pay Massa as much and no point in having Alonso and Raikkonen each of who gets paid a lot.

^But Alonso brought a huge sponsor (Santander Bank) to Ferrari...
Well, more likely Santander asked Ferrari to get Alonso..

Or..Ferrari wanted someone latin..
Ferrari = Italy
Massa = Brazil
Alonso = Spain

And Raikkonen is not.

It's official that Kubica is going to drive Renault next season!
Where is Raikkonen going? He've talked to bunch of teams including McLaren and Red Bull.

I uploaded some pics on my facebook.
This year, I didn't get a seat at Grandstand (in front of pitlane), so I don't have any pics of pit stops etc. And some pics are very blurry because I'm not used to my new camera yet... LUMIX ZX1.
Check them out if you are interested!

Well, Canada GP is on 2010 F1 Calender.. BUT there are tax problems between Bernie and Canada (Montreal, Quebec, and Ottawa) at this moment. So we are not sure yet.

And it seems that teams prefer U.S.GP to Korean GP because they think that US market is more important in business and that the circuit in Korea is kinda far from big cities etc. So, it is very possible that U.S.GP will be back on calender sooner or later..

When/if I live in the States again (for biz school), I'd love to go see Canada GP or U.S.GP!

Button won the 2009 Championship.

Am I the only one that thinks Button is the least deserved driver for the champion in the last 10 years?

Congrats on Webber, too!
The grand stand at Brazilian GP was very quiet at the ceremony.

Quote :
"Toyota is about to pull out of Formula 1, Japanese newspaper Mainichi reports. According to the paper, the Japanese manufacturer will host a press conference on November 8th, where the decision will be made public.

Toyota is set to have an important meeting in which the future of the Formula 1 project will be discussed, and the prospects aren't good. Toyota hasn't had that craved first victory this year, although the team has made a big step forward after last season. With the manufacturer suffering badly from the current economic crisis, the millions spent in the Formula 1 project could very well be used for other issues.

If Toyota indeed pulls out, it would be bad news for rookie Kamui Kobayashi, who made a very good impression in the two races in which he replaced the injured Timo Glock. After a sixth place in Abu Dhabi, he looked set for a drive in 2010. It could also mean good news for the former BMW team, who are looking to get a spot on the grid for next year, which they could take over from Toyota."

http://f1.gpupdate.net/en/news/2009/11/03/toyota-set-to-end-formula-1-project/

I'm very shocked/sad about this news. I really hope Toyota will stay in F1 in partnership with some group/company/team..

If Button signs with McLaren, Raikkonen may take one year off or retire from F1 circus...

Glock joins Manor as a lead driver! Congrats, Glock!
Well, there was a big rumor that Glock will go to Renault... but actually he didn't. Perhaps, he and his manager know that Renault will get out of F1 circus, too?!?!
