It has little to do with it being illegal. It's more about the image marijuana currently has. If he got caught getting a blow job in NC i'm sure he would lose plenty of sponsorship too. Plus that's illegal and a stupid law. Or if he got caught doing a keg stand, he'd probably lose sponsorship too. Anything that doesn't appeal to most of the American public is a threat to any big brand name.

^and again. who said it was a "habit"? If he had a beer, would everyone assume he has a habit of drinking? I'm not saying he doesn't have a habit. But the majority of pot smokers in the US do it casually and ARE NOT potheads in any sense of the word.
