^^ Hell no. I'm rarely attracted to men. Therefore, I tend to stay action-free.

I find women much more physically attractive than men. But it's hard to find a hot chick who thinks and acts like a dude.

I do have the hots for a guy at the moment.

no, it doesn't make you smarter, but it means you're pretty smart, and it means you have some ambitions, and for people in the science field, it means your ambitions are not entirely money related but that you'll probably make a steady paycheck.

but getting back to the original post i'd say ya go for it, match.com can be fun if you are willing to meet people

basically from when i started i've met a lot of girls and gotten mixed results, sometimes i liked them, sometimes they liked me, sometimes we liked each other. Unfortunately nothing ever worked out, idk. Kinda sucks but I wouldn't ever say i'd rather not have met any of them.

Very first girl I met was easily 40lbs more than any of her pics and those pics are STILL up on her profile this was a year and a half ago. I was pissed that she would lie like that, anyways her username is like Jen101a or something like that if you come across her don't fucking bother.

dated 2 girls for ~month or two. Both blond, i liked them both but for some reason or another became somewhat disinterested. Kinda sucked i ended it but i just had no desire to date them anymore. First one was very smart and nice and would make a perfect wife but was also boring and i wasn't that attracted to, 2nd one was fun and cool but divorced and kinda crazy and i was feeling really rushed into things and got scared and backed off.

went on a bunch of dates, even w/girls that were really hot like i shouldn't have ever been seeing them, that was cool.

I'm gonna be honest though, i've been on that site for a year now and recently has been a horrible dry spell. I just have no interest really in contacting or meeting any girls on there. It starts to get really old cause they are always asking you the same basic questions over and over again and as much as I enjoy talking about myself that shit is tiring sometimes.

I've been talking to a couple girls recently and will probably ask both of them out, but idk if it'll work out unless i'm really into them, just cause my drive won't be as strong and if you dont' act interested/motivated it's probably going to make me look boring.

I think i'm gonna take a break for a while and just focus on School/Gym/NFL and just do my own thing.

sadly when i was in high school i thought for sure i'd be married by 26...lol that ship has sailed.

i think the key is to have it just be an option. since i've been single again i threw up my info and a couple pics on there and have literally been innundated with contact from women. maybe it doesnt work that way for everybody, but its like, i dont simply date through match...but if a girl who contacted me catches my eye, it's not a bad thing to be like "yo lets get a drink?".

its not like i cant also go out and meet girls on my own and some of them are crazy, but some of them are actually fun and it just expands your social circle. i think it works better in a huge metropolitan area full of single people. In my opinion, DC is perfect for this, probably better than NYC simply because it's more transitory in nature, everyone is from somewhere else and can always expand their new DC network of people they know.

i understand some people dont have the same successes but for me, it's just been like fast food, you just kind of see if there's something you like, hook it up, and keep it movin. could have just as easily probably met them out somewhere, but maybe not because i tend to keep a pattern to where i go out and frequent as far as bars go.

Real life dating and pick up > Internet dating and pick up.

A lot of people turn to internet dating and pick up in order to avoid social risk and rejection.

Doing so prevents very constructive social experiences.

Please tell me something more exhilarating than forcing the gumption to talk to a stranger, face to face, while risking your ego.

While there are benefits to internet dating, the costs can easily outweigh them.

QFT.

There are a lot of idiots in this world that think as soon as they receive their Masters degree they are suddenly a different person. Both of my parents are PhD's and neither one of them thinks that they are better than everyone else. Kids nowadays are so shallow and superficial they will never be happy.

^^
I used to think a pretty face was my #1 priority, I was wrong, tis dat bubble butt.

^ I'm surprised you're on match, as you're fairly bold IRL.

But it's definitely fun to double or triple your prospects via online dating.

some of this is true, but in the case of my friend she wasn't looking for someone with a higher degree for the $$ (she certainly didn't get her PhD to bring in the big bucks, she's now a chemistry professor) -- but she was looking for someone in a similar place in life since she was in her late-20s and had been in school for awhile and was in a transition job at the time, a little different than the guy who has been working for 6-8 yrs out of college and is basically settled down minus the girlfriend/wife

personally, i didn't agree with her and don't think a higher degree would be a requirement for me but a bachelors probably would -- if that makes me shallow and superficial, i'm ok with that

There is nothing wrong with wanting your partner to have a college education. It's when you draw a line in the sand, because of an advanced degree, which is by no means a determinate of how smart you are, that is idiotic. This reminds me of SAT scores. One of my best friends scored an impressive 1580/1600 on the SAT, and now he works at a pizza place, attempted to finish his degree, but failed. On paper, and in theory, many people thought he was one of the smartest kids in our class. However, in practice, he's an idiot. Another one of my friends scored a shitty 970 on the SAT. On paper, many people thought he was simply dumb, but he's turned into a real winner. He earned a degree from NCSU after transfering from Wake Tech, and now he works at SAS institute. He got there with passion, determination, perseverance, and character. Anyway, it's not what you have on paper that matters, what really determines a person's character are the hurdles they overcame, and what they did AFTER college. Besides, a lot of people that continue their education are doing it out of fear of the real world. Expect to meet a lot of pansies.

2. I enjoy fucking her.
