Ha...Whiteville...not a bad small town to grow up in, but would definitely pick the Holy City over most cities to live in. And working way too hard right now...but hoping it will pay off in the long run. Really excited about this house. Going to enlist my mom's interior decorating expertise when I'm finally ready to move in.

sorry for the dark picture....heres a stock photo of the dining set:

also, the geisha/cherry blossom picture i got from BB&B.

and the big thing on the roof is a solar panel...which doesnt even work. it's pretty ugly, but im just renting the house, so there's not much i can do about it.

Supposed to close on a house at the end of June, and then moving near the end of July. Once things are mostly in place, I'll post.

Some of y'all have really nice places. At some point I might post pics of mine, but I wouldn't have much to show--90% of our furniture is shitty old hand-me-downs and the decorating is all my girlfriend's work. Plus (unfortunately we rent) the landlord wouldn't allow us to paint even if we would repaint upon leaving, so every freaking wall is white except for the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms which are, oddly. lavender and mint green. :-/

True. But 2 people can damn sure fill up a 1320 square foot house and half of a 2-car garage without even trying, especially when said house has no attic and no shed.

@jbrick83, nice place! I love historic homes and preservation, and I'd love to live somewhere like that--especially somewhere that was facing demolition and brought back from the brink. But you also get brand new roofing, systems, and appliances, which is nice and should keep you trouble-free for quite a while.

that's what scares me about the house i'm really considering. Right now it's just me, and there is no garage but there is an attic and 2 outbuildings. That's plenty of storage for just me and what I own, but the moment a SO moves in, we'd outgrow it in no time.

^^exactly. we're 1200 sq feet w/ a small attic and small shed and little closet/storage space. we're are packed in here...whenever we decide to have kids we'll have to move. there's just no room. our 2nd bedroom is more like a huge closet

1200-1300 feet sounds tiny for a house

yeah, it does sound tiny the more and more i think about it. but the asking price and what i could potentially get it for, plus what i can put in for a down payment and I would make out like a bandit in terms of mortgage payments. I really don't want to be house poor..especially when it's just me these days.

Sam, that is going to be a bonus room and a workout room. I'm going to put a pool table in there and tv sitting room. I will probably add a bar too.

The upstairs alone is 1100 sq ft.
