I'd say a safe estimate is that 20-30 people saw this happen first-hand. The reasons aren't clear, that's for sure, but a man retracted his donation in a very public way, and that, right there, is the baseline for all of this.

and that has been backed up and explained by Dan himself, who, as it turns out, thought it best for him (for reasons he confided in me, which I'll not divulge here, or anywhere) to not own a shirt that said "I got buzzed" on the front. If you want, you can expand your conjecture here.

To touch on a few things here that have been up for debate, seemingly:

Ruckus and Cloo's are competitors, at least a little. As are Ruckus and Quizno's, Ruckus and Bada, Ruckus and Sammy's, Bada and Cloo's, Quizno's and Cloo's, etc, etc, etc. I'm not here to discount that. I've stated clearly the theme of all of these posts.

Look, if this event had happened at Quizno's, or Cloo's, or Bada, and I withdrew my donation because an item I got in return was detrimental to steps I'm trying to take in my personal life--and no one knew about that up front--I'd certainly expect a thread on here about it.

Nope, not scared of anything, except that you might not ever come to Ruckus (wait a minute. . .). I could just see where it was going, and the tunnel vision-esque idiocy I was looking to deal with, and the ultimate fall-out of people I don't even know asking me about it when they come into Ruckus, aaaaand me subsequently not wanting to talk about it beyond 3 days ago. It's done. I've spoken with Dan, and while I understand the terms of the return (but not the retraction), it won't be told here. Ever. I'm certain he'd appreciate that.

I'm glad you care so for my well-being. It is adorable.

That said, this will be my last post on the matter. You guys can scrounge for further details all you'd like. I'll keep eating at Cloo's, (btw, I've never had to wait that long for food there....I'm sure it helps that every time I eat there it's after 2pm) and I'll never dissuade my employees from eating there, or anyone else. My big bottom line still stands. You don't retract a donation.

there were multiple posts by his associates that each claimed to boycott the establishment. at no time did he attempt to share Cloo's side of the story (even though by his own admission in this thread, he already knew). In fact, he continued to insult Cloo's and continued to attempt to damage their reputation, calling the owner names like "dickweed" etc..
