Love beagles and black labs, also yorkies and miniature schnouzers.
Not really a fan of dogs with no snout. 7/20/2011 1:48:19 PM |

My grandmother has a miniature schnauzer. That thing is crazy as hell She has a thing for the crazy breeds though. She also has two jack russells. I hate those things so much. 7/20/2011 2:03:27 PM |

^Mine have a cross between a jack russell and a poodle. I can outrun their dog and it will get winded well before I will on jogs - and I'm terribly out of shape.
Just about every dog they've ever owned has ensured a few more years of me not getting a dog.

I had a miniature schnauzer growing up...
that dog would pee in the house then you'd discipline it for that, and it would pee and poop IN your bed. 7/20/2011 2:22:59 PM |

Black & Tan Coonhound
Dogs I will never, ever, ever own: Sheltie Border Collie
Also, some people in this thread say their dog is one breed when it is obviously a mutt.
Also I would kill somebody for a purebred plott hound. 7/20/2011 4:02:49 PM |

Going to be surprising the gf with an Italian Spinone in about a month. Her parents have one as does her sister. I was indifferent towards them at first (I like all dogs as long as you can't fit them in a purse), but after hanging around her family's dogs, I've come to really like them.
I think we're getting a brown one:
Her sister has an all white:
And her parents have a white/orange:
I'm pretty pumped.
I'm still very partial to boxers...but I have to get this breed "out of the way" before I can whatever dog I want.

But I do wanna get another large dog one day (when I have a house and a yard) for Trixie to play with. My mom wants to take my dog and get me a chocolate lab because she doesn't wanna go thru the process of training it 5/25/2012 11:53:36 AM |

Pretty sure I already posted in here about how awesome Scottish Deerhounds are.
Today at Starbucks some guy had a dog that I am pretty sure was one of them. While he was inside getting his drink, I pet it and it only reinforced how cool these dogs are. I would totally want one but I don't have an active enough lifestyle cause they have a lot of energy.
But he was so cute and friendly and awesome.
Also, the guy was walking around wearing those Vibram shoes. 5/25/2012 3:35:07 PM |

I'd love to have a King Charles Cavalier, but they have such bad hearts, and that is something I couldn't deal with...
I still love Labs (what I grew up with) and my mutt (a staffordshire/pitty/boxer sort of mix), but I can definitely appreciate the luxury of having a smaller dog. I don't see the need to have a dog over 50lbs unless it is a working dog of some sort, or you just have a ton of space. I feel bad when I see people with Danes and other 100lb+ beasts that live in 1 and 2 bedroom apartments because they need room to move around.
I will do my best to talk my wife into a smaller dog for our next pet, but I'm also pushing to get a pig! 5/26/2012 10:15:52 PM |
