I'm not going to berate you for what you did. To be honest, I could care less. Had I been out there, that would be a different story, but I'll get into that in a second.

You've got a massive set on you, I'll give you that. What you don't have is guile & cunning to match. You made something that should've been about users choosing your site over TWW into a personal issue between yourself and the TWW user base. How? People spent their own time painting a tunnel to advertise a site that they come to for friendship and entertainment, only to have it defaced for your site's advertisement.

First thing: If you really want to be that sort of businessman - the type who will be cutthroat and relentless in the pursuit of what he wants - you've got to be quite a bit smarter about how you position yourself against your competitors. The smart thing to do - assuming that you're going to be that cutthroat - would have been to paint the tunnel black and leave it at that... at first. Then come back a week later and paint your WolfWall stuff there. No one would've been able to directly link you to the action, and you would've avoided any negative sentiment or press. Unfortunately, you aren't smart enough to think that far ahead.

Second thing: If you want WolfWall to actually succeed, you need to not come off like such a douchebag. When your average NC State student hears about what you've done - and they will - they're going to swear off anything to do with your site. Advertising? Good luck convincing local businesses to advertise on a site that's enraged a good portion of their customer base. I'm pretty sure you can count on most TWW users boycotting any local establishment endorsed by or advertised on your site. That sucks for you, because TWW has more buying power than your site's non-existant user base.


At this point, the smart thing for you to do would be to publicly apologize, both here and on WolfWall. Tell your girlfriend to shut her mouth unless she's got a stake in your company (my bet is she doesn't), and stand tall and take your licks as a man.
