Coach TOB went 2-7 vs. Virginia Tech while at Boston College. It took him 7 years to finally beat them from when he started in '97.

During Matt Ryan's junior season in 2006, BC beat Va Tech 22-3. The Eagles went on to win 9 regular season games, including a bowl win. They would have had 10 wins, had it not been for the last-minute 17-15 win by the NC State Wolfpack!

and Taylor Gentry continues to be a work horse. if he is on the field, good things happen. love his aggressive play. had a big tackle on a kickoff and leveled a cb. not bad for a blocking fb.

I'm glad we can complain now about noon games. Just last year or the year before (heck the UNC game during the TA debacle) we could complain about a game not being on TV or HD. If I was still a student, I'd be pumped about any game this year.

I figure that that this is the best place to put this.

Does anyone actually know how your probability of winning the ticket lotto is determined? When they announced loyalty points I was excited because I thought, "Oh, great, I'm a grad student who hasn't missed a game in 6 years. I'll be guaranteed a ticket to every game this year." However, somehow having the max loyalty points does not guarantee you a ticket.

Straight from our ticketreturn website:
Quote :
"Selection of lottery winners for all games in a season will be based on Gratis Points only."

I hate to whine and bitch, but I just want to know what is the formula. What was my probability of winning a ticket this week? How many people with less loyalty points than me got a ticket? Do guest tickets affect your probability of winning? Does being in a small or large group change your chances?

I think that everyone who is in my situation, and there are a lot of us, deserve an answer to these questions. I need to know who to be mad at and how to prevent this problem in the future. I'm looking at you Technician, do your job and get to the bottom of this. The people have a right to know.

If this info is out there can someone send me a link. I've reviewed everything I can find from our ticketing site.

they just need to go back to waiting in line to get vouchers and do a lottery of those

the minimal effort required will weed out at least 30% of all people requesting tickets

The ticketing process since they went online has been a joke. If there is a formula, it obviously doesn't work properly. Wonder how many bandwagoners got 2 guest tickets and haven't been to a game yet.

Excuse TT's ignorance.

The game will likely by a 2 or 3 way split, with the vast majority of the country getting Texas/Oklahoma.

Do your season predictions change after Saturday's win? Here's mine:

Sept. 4 WESTERN CAROLINA - W
Sept. 11 at Central Florida - W
Sept. 16 CINCINNATI - W
Sept. 25 at Georgia Tech - W

Oct. 2 Virginia Tech - L. Great home-field environment, but close loss to the Hokies. I think the game will come down to special teams play, which obviously favors "Beamer-ball". Our punt and kickoff coverage has been good so far; but I can see us having a punt or FG blocked. Tyrod Taylor is one of the most dangerous QB's in the ACC; I think he exposes our young secondary in this game.

Oct. 9 Boston College - W. Herzlich vs. Irving in a matchup for the league's best "hero" story. Tom O'Brien is due for his first win against his former team. The Eagles already have QB uncertainty again in week 4 of the season. After non-convincing wins vs inferior opponents and being shutout vs. Va Tech, the Eagles don't look as good as they have been in previous years. The Pack get revenge for last year's 52-20 blowout in Chestnut Hill.

Oct. 16 at East Carolina - W. The Pirates will play up for this "rivalry" game and will be looking for the upset. However, Russell plays smart and the Pack leaves Greenville with a win.

Oct. 28 Florida State - L. The Wolfpack have a bye week before the matchup against the Seminoles. The 12 day break is a long time for the players to think about one of their biggest games of the season on primetime Thursday night on ESPN. The Noles defense will shut down our O-line and will hold us to <100 yards rushing. Christian Ponder plays like a veteran senior in a hostile environment and exposes our young secondary (again).

Nov. 6 at Clemson - L. Death Valley will be rocking in arguably the toughest road game the Pack faces all season. The Tigers took Auburn to overtime in their house and looked like a conference contender. It will be Clemson's final ACC home game of the season. By this time in the season, we may experience some injuries to some key players. The Pack hasn't won the Annual Textile Bowl in 6 straight seasons. The Pack will play well, but not as well as Clemson. Too many mistakes, turnovers, and penalties (or a combination of all) will result in a loss.

Nov. 13 Wake Forest - W. Senior Day in Raleigh as the Wolfpack seniors play their final game in Carter-Finley. The Deacs have a weak defense this season and are forced to start a true freshman QB. Russell plays inspired football for likely his last home game on the gridiron. The Pack offense cruises and the defense has a field day, getting 3+ sacks and 2 turnovers.

Nov. 20 at North Carolina - W. It will be Senior Day in Chapel Hill, celebrating the final home game for seniors TJ Yates, Shaun Draughn, and Bruce Carter. It is unknown at this point how many players the Heels will have available for the game, but they will at least have senior starters Deunta Williams and Kendric Burney back. Carolina has played inspired football so far, but so has State. The UNC seniors will have the underclassmen pumped for this game at the risk of going winless against the Wolfpack during their college careers. Wilson knows how to beat Carolina, and will do it again, going down in history as one of the few (maybe only) Wolfpack QB's to go undefeated vs Carolina.

Nov. 27 at Maryland - W. The Terps have been known to be season spoilers for the Pack in the past decade, winning 7 of the last 10 matchups (unbelievable). But Wilson knows it's probably his last regular-season college football game of his career, and he goes out with a bang, repeating the 3,000 yard, 30 TD mark in a season that he accomplished last year. Depending on how the Terp's season goes, this game could be Coach Friedgen's last at Maryland.

9-3 season

I really think Miami and Florida State are the only teams that can beat us because they can match our speed...I think we beat the Hokies by 10

***and we would only have to play Miami in the ACC championship***

also let me just say that i find it relatively repulsive that we're currently 4-0 and people are saying "fuck yeah, 9-3, i'd sell you my kids for a 9-3 season".

maybe we shit the bed, but jesus christ it's not like we just won two games w/ daniel evans. this team has not given reason to suspect that they'd be lucky to finish 5-3. also, the acc is absolute shit.

^ I agree. The stars are aligned to allow a decent (not great) NC State team to do something special this year... if we make the most of it.

Who knows, they might be great. When you can throw to a ton of a receivers, and they arent dropping the ball 50% of the time like years past, maybe thats all we needed...

And the Cincy game looks better and better. They almost be Oklahoma this past week.

Yeah TWW pessimism is getting old quick.
Quote :
"Tyrod Taylor is one of the most dangerous QB's in the ACC"

The Hokies are 87th in passing and TT has only passed for more than 200 yds once this year (BC), including failing to pass for more than 200yds against JMU and ECU. Everyone has always thought that TT and Jacory were going to be these elite ACC QBs. NEWS FLASH they are and always will be average at best.

Quote :
"The Wolfpack have a bye week before the matchup against the Seminoles. The 12 day break is a long time for the players to think about one of their biggest games of the season on primetime Thursday night on ESPN."

So 7 days must be a magical number? Everyone thought we would come out flat against Cinci because we only had 5 days and now you're saying that we have too much time to prepare for the FSU game? We had 9 days to prepare for the GT game, I guess we didn't have long enough to think about it though.

Quote :
"By this time in the season, we may experience some injuries to some key players. "

Everything you said about the recent history vs Clemson was true and it will likely be for the Atlantic crown, but then you threw this garbage in there and I'm not sure why?

Thank you for informing the readers of the thread that if they are far enough away from Raleigh, they will likely see the team that almost lost to Cincy play the team that just got raped by UCLA on ABC, as opposed to the VT@NCSU game
