It is like chrisie is planning on leaving the party or something. He is just laying out his perfectly logical reasons for walking out on them. Those were pretty harsh for a standard "stop fucking around" call. 1/3/2013 2:10:19 AM |

You know what, fuck Christie. He's taken $$$$$$ from the GOP, and sure as hell knew what kind of obstructionist assholes they are. He's just whining now that he is personally affected. Same goes to Peter King. 1/3/2013 12:02:22 PM |

isn't that kind of the current Republican Party in a nutshell?
bitching and moaning about things until they become personally affected by said thing and then they see the light?

Quote : | "here are many differences between a government budget and a household budget. The purpose of the comparison I posted was to reveal the true scale of the debt, the deficit, and "cuts". Without a doubt, you'd have the government print us back to a subsistence farming era if you could. Luckily, your ideology, having been proven dead wrong time and time again, is becoming irrelevant." |
Let's just settle this once for all. Household debt has to be paid off in its entirety with income. Bills, credit cards, mortgages, etc... you either pay for it or loose it.
A substantial amount of debt that we owe is to future programs. And this debt can be "paid off" through legislation.
This is just another bad example of how the right wing tries to misinform people with "science" and they fall for it. It is actually quite impressive. Whoever comes up with it is extremely clever.1/4/2013 12:48:28 AM |

i also don't know of any households who have to pay for commitments made by generations preceding them 1/4/2013 8:01:12 AM |

seriously... if the repubs sell off our gun rights for tax cuts on rich people i will forever abandon the party as this will clearly indicate they're only for the 1% and don't actually give two shits about freedom. 1/4/2013 8:08:26 AM |

Michele Bachmann almost lost. It is a shame she didn't. I'm sure her district is quite a scary place if there are enough nutjobs there to keep re-electing her. 1/4/2013 10:42:43 AM |

Am I mistaken in thinking that the idea of social security was that the population of the US would simply continue to grow and that there would be more young folks paying in to support a fewer number of old folks? Because if that is the case, then SS should have been phased out once our growth rate stabilized and future old people outnumbered the youngins'.
I get an occasional statement from the SS office stating how much I am projected to receive each month upon "retirement". The amount can best be described as "supplemental" at best. The idea that SS is some sort of pension is absurd and needs to be abolished.
As for the military, can someone justify why we spend more on our military than the next 17 countries combined? Are we prepping for an invasion from Mars?
And lastly, fuck the FDA. 1/4/2013 10:53:16 AM |

so you want them to preserve the tax cuts on the rich, because if they don't, it means they only care about the 1%

Must be strange to swear them in and pin their spouses while leading the charge to get millions of tax dollars spent on DOMA defense.1/5/2013 9:13:41 PM |

^^ No, he means that if the GOP acquiesces to gun control in exchange for the Democrats easing demands for tax hikes on the most wealthy, he is going to be pissed. 1/5/2013 9:55:10 PM |
