haha in what context though? fast as fuck compared to the other dogs back home? cause peyton seems fast to me (of course, because he is a dog) but when I take him to the dog park, he is the slowest dog there... He runs smaller circles cocentric to the circles the other dogs are running just so he can keep up His little legs just can't get him moving fast enough

fast for a medum sized dog, above average on the spectrum of dogs

^mine either, stella is wary of cats, she tolerates them as long as they don't move fast

Gambit seems like a pit bull - greyhound mix, so I bet he's kinda fast

Now I'm kinda wanting to get a pit bull mix...though has to be something that doesn't look outright 'pit bull' since we are renting and all

Gambit is insanely fast... one day I'll record it but he gets really low to the ground like greyhounds and can sprint like a motherfucker

English Bull Terriers are normally grouped in with Pit Bulls, so I'll use that to justify posting more pics of my dog.

When I would take gambit to the dog park, he would literally run over all the other dogs. I think that qualifies as "fast as fuck".

SAME!!! i really want my kitties and dog to be friends. she was friends with my one kitten. probably because my one kitten is super dumb. now my kitten lives with tschudi's cat so she's been away from the dog for awhile. she probably will hate her now. poor dog. no love from the kitties.

but my other cat HATES the dog. HATES. because my dog chases her. it is something we are working on...but her prey drive (probably from pointer/hound/whatever bird dog she has in her) is UNREAL. anything that moves she will chase. and she's fast, but clumsy so...the cat gets away easily. plus my dog would never bite her but she WILL put her mouth on her (like she does to me when we're playing, she won't bite but she'll get my arm in her mouth and then start licking me haha). my cat got her good in the nose once and she went easy on her for awhile.

my dog thinks it is a game. clearly, the cat does not think it is a game at all. she's pissed. but the weird thing is they BOTH sleep on my bed. NOT TOUCHING, dear god no, but like 3 inches apart. the dog won't mess with her on the bed. HOWEVER, if she is wagging her tail in my cats face, my cat will swat it. then all hell breaks loose. but damn, cat, you bring that on yourself!

^^ hahaha that's so funny.

My sister's dog wants to be friends with my parents' cats SO BAD but they're not having any of it. I feel so bad for her dog because she just looks so sad when the cats run away from her or hiss at her haha. My cats were over there briefly while I was moving back to the States and while my one cat apparently just ignored Penny, the other made it her personal mission to terrorize her. Poor Penny

here is my cat being tempted by my doggies tail!

this is the face she makes when she is in trouble (can def see a little pit):

I'm surprised the dog didn't run up and babysit her since it is naturally inclined to do so. Like all the other pit bulls that attack children, someone must have trained it do that.

bringing a new infant into the family is dangerous with any dog, in fact if you do a google search and skim through news articles you will see many different breeds doing the attacking. some dogs can see a new infant as a threat to their position, you want to do some reading about how to introduce an infant to any dog and then watch them like a hawk until the pack dynamic has been established. i don't care if its a pitt, a lab, a golden, or a poodle; its not uncommon for dogs to attack new infants.

That is really terrible about the little girl

But I'm confused about the $1 million umbrella insurance.... For one, how much does something like that cost? And two, I want to know how long they would impound your dog for something like that before euthanizing... Those comments make me extremely sad. Like I said before, of course you're going to hear more about these dogs because they are stronger and therefore can do more damage. What this little girl and the family had to go through is a terrible, terrible thing - and it seems like this owner was a piece of shit who didn't control his dogs at all. So how is that going to affect all the responsible dog owners?? I would flip shit if someone tried taking Gambit from me just because he was a mix. Contrary to the owner mentioned, he actually is well trained and listens...

Bad owners having out of control dogs are screwing everyone, imo.

she busted through a window that was accidentally left open and attacked a neighbor and her dog. Completely unpredictable.

neighbor got a flesh wound which means that we have to quarantine her, and then I just decided to put her down because of the liability.

That sucks man. Sorry to hear about that.

Saw a buddy this past weekend whose dog was stitched up after it had been attacked by a pair of blue shepherds owned by a neighbor. Those dogs have bit the UPS guy, my buddy, and now his dog (and I think he mentioned one more person). I can't believe he didn't call the sheriff and/or animal control.

That is just negligence.

Again, pits are not the only aggressive breeds and they rarely bite people. I hate that irresponsible owners can get away with stuff like that.

Dog mauls 4-year-old girl in Pender County

BURGAW, N.C. — A dog mauled a 4-year-old girl in Pender County Monday, according to the sheriff's office.

The child, whose name was not released, was visiting family at the 6000 block of Piney Woods Drive near Burgaw. Police said she wandered into the backyard where the dog was tied with a chain.

The girl was airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Her condition was not released.

Pender County Animal Control seized the dog, which officials said was a pit bull.

"Pregnant woman mauled to death by family pit bull was in campaign group arguing that the animals are safe"

Quote :
"A pregnant woman who was mauled to death by one of her pet pit bull terriers belonged to group campaigning to convince people that the animals aren't dangerous, it has emerged.

Darla Napora, 32, was bitten dozens of times and found by her husband Greg covered in blood outstretched on their living room floor in Pacifica, California.

Police say the two-year-old unneutered pit bull believed to be responsible was hovering around the woman, who had major injuries to her upper body and face.

It has since emerged Napora was a member of Bay Area Dog Lovers Responsible About Pit Bulls, a group that does its best to convince people that pit bulls aren't really that dangerous.

'When they arrived, they found the victim laying in her own front living room; she was not breathing, unresponsive and had major trauma to her upper body,' said Pacifica Police Captain Dave Bretini.

'The husband stated that when he got home, at about noon, he found his wife with their pit bull hovering over her.'
Police shot the blood covered pit bull terrier, similar to the one pictured, dead as it tried to escape from the back garden whilst officers conducted their investigation

Police shot the pit bull terrier, similar to the one pictured, dead as it tried to escape from the Napora's back garden

Police shot the blood covered animal dead as it tried to escape from the back garden whilst officers conducted their investigation.

'The last thing we wanted to happen was for the dog to get out and start attacking bystanders or be loose in the neighbourhood,' Bertini said.

'So as soon as the dog got out of the backyard, the decision was immediately made to put that dog down and that's why the dog was shot three times by two officers on scene.'

Mr Napora, who still believes the dogs are not dangerous, has said he will bury his wife with the dead pet.

Locals had strong reactions to Mrs Napora's death and many said they didn't know the couple had dogs as they hadn’t seen them outside.

Neighbour Tom Lujan believes pit bulls are dangerous: 'I wouldn't have one, and I wouldn't want my family around one,' he said.

The Napora's next door neighbour surprisingly said the dogs had always been well behaved.
