My dad lived in Myrtle Beach during Hugo, and I too stood outside during Fran (and drove my toyota tercel all over Raleigh/Cary the next day checking on friends, searching for ice, and helping to clear trees when I could!)

I can in fact confirm that AxlBonBach played tackle football during Hurricane Isabel on the day that class was canceled. While he did that, I went to the Paul Derr track with some friends and tied bedsheets to our arms and wrists in an attempt to catch some wicked air. Wicked air was in fact caught:
