Blade faces in to signal a lack of aggression.

as i remember you are suppose to place the knife at the 1:30 position with the blade facing yourself after use. And the reason that the blade is on the right side is b/c although most people eat with their right side, the left side initially holds the fork and the knife does the cutting, then put down the knife, switch hands with the fork and enjoy the meal.

Also the proper way to open a door for someone, too many people do it the dumb way and just make it feel awkward

I dont know, some things like that intrigue me. On a similar note, the dutch are one of the few teams that wear the traditional 1-11 for their starting line up. The number 10 was traditionally given to the more creative forward or attacking mid fielder. This was made famous mainly by Pele, which is why only the best wear the 10 for their club/country. Its like the whole jordan 23 thing, except much bigger.
