Omm...the Nets shot 15-31 from three point land and Deron Williams torched Lin for 38. They would beat most NBA teams shooting like that.

I wouldn't say it's Lin's or Melo's fault...it's the team as a whole for playing shitastic defense (a signature for Dantoni teams).

Obviously Carmelo was going to be a little sluggish in his first game back. Props to Lin for not turning it over double digit times and for having a decent game.

It can't possibly be that carmelo isn't good. That definitely CAN'T be the reason . We should just completely rule that possibility out and not even discuss it.

Six turnovers on 4-11 fg may SOUND awful but you have to realize how he's taking all the defensive attention away from Jeremy Lin.

You raise a good point. Maybe carmelo isn't the sole reason for Jeremy Lins success but he's definitely the main reason. I mean the fans voted him into the allstar game so by default he's at least one of the top five players in the east

Lowry is an absolute monster. Toronto is quietly building a solid team.

Great backcourt with Lowry, Calderon, and Landry Fields. They just need to rid themselves of DeRozan.

Down low they've got two really good big men in Ed Davis and Amir Johnson, plus an underrated Aaron Gray. Just need to get rid of Bargnani. It's tough to admit that the #1 overall pick was a bust, but if he hasn't developed yet it's just not going to happen, the guy is a killer when he plays big minutes.

James Johnson and Dom McGuire are solid options at the 3 too especially Toronto benches Kleiza finally.

Valanciunas (sp?) looked good in summer league too, he could develop into a nice player.

Toronto could very well be an above .500 team this year if they give up the Bargnani/DeRozan experiment and give the reigns to their talented players.

no backcourt featuring Landry Fields is great. he's a solid guy off the bench, but a marginal NBA starter.

Davis and Johnson are mediocre. unless paired up with a superstar big, neither of them will ever start for a contending team. Bargnani's contract sucks, but he'd be pretty valuable, if he had a rim protecting center playing next to him, which is exactly what Toronto wishes Ed Davis and Amir Johnson were capable of doing.
