I'm not really one of the conspiracy believers, but this KH deal is telling... nothing happened to hess, he wasn't disallowed from officiating (he was invited)... he opted not to... so the other "acc" refs pay a tribute to him for what? fishy.

^official word is that he was invited to ref, but chose not to so he wouldn't be a "distraction". take that FWIW.

watching these scrubs suck reminds me of my basketball days back in middle school. the coach was all excited because I was a tall & big guy, he thought he had a great center.... but I SUCKED at basketball... so I was relegated to the bench... hahaha

If you buy the whole nc state conspiracy thing, then you assume the ACC/swofford/etc has explicity NOT supported our team with the officials. Thus, Hess would be getting penalized by the ACC for doing what they told him -and all the other officials- to do already...

Posted it in game thread too, ACC released a statement between games:

"Karl Hess wanted to make sure that he did not take away from the ACC Tournament, its teams and the players; therefore he made the decision not to participate this year. The officials, as a group, have agreed to respect Karl's decision and will eliminate any further distraction from the Tournament."

And the current ref team does not have the KH on their shoes.

But Hess said he didn't ref there of his own choice, right? Nobody ejected him from the ACC tournament, if you believe Swofford's statement.

So the refs at the tournament protested Hess' own decision not to participate. Or, Swofford told him he wasn't gong to be allowed and the other refs got mad about it.
