what is it about aviation parkway that makes so many people wreck? the bad drivers late for a flight? some wierd merging that I never noticed? or is it just the massive volume of vehicles and chances are one of them will wreck?

There are other high traffic areas that don't have a wreck every other day...

Damn it was bad. Thought Id beat it and cut to 54 to get to work, nope, backed up from RTP all the way to Cary Parkway. Id have been faster taking US1 to 64 and up 55.

I work in the DOT traffic ops center. The big room with the wall of monitors for traffic cameras. Today was pretty shitty, 3 wrecks in the roadway on 440 Eastbound this afternoon. That and 40/85 west/south was shut down in burlington from 3:30 until 11:40 due to an overturned tanker carrying ethanol. 300 gallons spilled on the road.

Also, Im one of the people that puts up the overhead message signs that no one pays attention to.

Man, I-40 West bound this morning was smooth sailing! I kept waiting for the other shoe to fall, but ti never did. Only dipped below 70 mph 1-2 times on my way in. I dunno the cause for this (maybe a wreck on I-40 east of Raleigh?) but I was happy either way!

I've lived in NC for 26 years and I can honestly say I've never heard of Bunnlevel, nor would have guessed Harnett County.

Wonder if it was drugs or alcohol.

I'd go alcohol, you can usually figure out if a person has been drinking fairly easily. Drugs would require testing unless they find it all over the car. I never take 40 home in the afternoon. Glenwood FTW.

There was a 3 or 4 car wreck on 440W between capital and wake forest this morning. Fucking people need to learn to drive think thats 4/5 days there was a wreck fucking up traffic.
