I think Teal and Norman are NFL players, they consistently impress me. Amerson is an NFL starter.

Quote : | " During an interview on Friday, ESPN's Mel Kiper predicted that when "all is said and done" NC State senior Mike Glennon will be the top QB in the 2013 Draft.
Kiper cited Glennon's frame, big arm, intelligence, Tom O'Brien's desire to start him over Russell Wilson, and blamed the senior's supporting cast for a multitude of drops. Take it for what you want, but Glennon could thrive down in Mobile since he will not have to face consistent pressure, especially from the interior. He would work best in an up-tempo, quick hitting offense. Kiper added that he expects Glennon to be selected in the top-15, followed by Matt Barkley and Geno Smith in the late first-round. " |

Every analyst has been been wrong. You are not pointing out anything useful. I'm sure we could find some under the radar guys that he loved and that did well. I don't care much for Kiper, but it's good to see Glennon getting some attention.

Yeah, you're right. Also, I would like to point out that at least one team did not pass on Jimmy, as the Panthers had traded their first round pick away the previous year. This made their pick in the second round the first chance they had to draft him. I didn't do the research to check if any other teams had no chance to draft him.
On an unrelated note, every team passed on Tom Brady many times. 1/4/2013 5:30:37 PM |

Glennon probably is the best qb in this draft. But this is about the weakest qb class I can remember. In about any other year he would be a 3rd rounder or so. 1/4/2013 6:20:55 PM |

he'll make a fine career backup, but he has done nothing in his 2 years for me to think he'll be a career starter
that doesn't mean I hate him, it means that quality NFL QB's are extremely rare and I don't think he fits the mold
I'll be happy if I'm wrong, but I doubt it 1/4/2013 6:34:34 PM |

i'd say there were a lot of drops. for me, most everything i saw were drops. i watched over half our games, and if you watch them, there were a ton of drops, even in the bowl game. i don't even know how many drops there were. i'd say it has less to do with Glennon, but more to do with his teammates dropping the ball.

Quote : | "To the City of Raleigh and Wolfpack fans everywhere:
As I donned my N.C. State helmet for the last time in the Senior Bowl, I took a moment to reflect on the last few years I have spent in Raleigh and how thankful I am for my experience. My time at State was filled with countless memorable experiences, from the win in the Belk Bowl to one of the most exciting Saturday nights ever in Raleigh this past October.
As much as I am looking forward to fulfilling my dream of playing in the NFL, I am also saddened by the thought of leaving the place I have come to call home. I loved being a student at North Carolina State while earning my undergraduate and graduate degrees, and every second I wore the Wolfpack uniform was special to me. This school and city have given me so much and for that I will be forever grateful. I have every intention of remaining an active member of the Raleigh and N.C. State communities to begin paying back all of the support you have shown me over the years.
I would especially like to thank Coach O’Brien, because he played a huge role in getting me to where I am now, but I wish Coach Doeren and my teammates the best in years to come. I can’t wait to watch State games as a fan, and I look forward to coming back to a packed Carter-Finley Stadium in the near future.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will carry your cheers and support with me always. Regardless of where my next stop may be, I will forever be a member of the Wolfpack.
Go Pack!
-Mike Glennon" |

Glennon has some upside going into the NFL. He just needs to get in the right situation and be groomed, he can't start from Day 1 like Russell did. Glennon needs the Rodgers treatment, go in and sit for a couple of years and develop physically and mentally, then take over a team.
Because he's not a "Day 1 starter", he's likely to be a 2nd/3rd round pick by a team that is iffy at QB but not desperate. 2/1/2013 2:52:09 PM |

And, is he really that good of a passer or was gruden just hyping him up? I mean the best passer in the draft, really? 4/17/2013 1:23:44 AM |

he's a very accurate passer
he's terribly immobile, i questioned his decision making at times (ie throwing a 4-yard checkdown on 3rd and 10) and once again, he's horrific with his lack of mobility
but he can thread the needle...he threw for over 4,000 yards this year and had three games with 400+ passing yards...would've had a couple 500+ yard passing games were it not for receivers dropping passes that hit them right in the numbers 4/17/2013 1:32:03 AM |

He's not mobile, but he moves well in the pocket and he also throws well on the run* (he made a ton of big throws while running to the sideline).
IMO, they just need to work on his decision making. Get that little bit of Jay Cutler out of him (as well as the throwing check downs on 4th and 10) and give him some protection...and you might have your starting QB for the next 10 years.
