I really think Stocker is going to start for us this season. Given how average of a passer Lynch was in the games I saw I think we can get away with a pretty shitty passer in a Doeren offense provided the QB can run.

I can't imagine either of them being worse than Marcus Stone. That guy was the biggest bust ever.

Freaking top rated QB recruit and he wasn't even a Division 1 level QB.

I mean he would overthrow a receiver 5 yards out on one play and on the next play dump a screen pass at their feet. Remember when he went like seven straight starts with only one completion in the first half?!

Jay Davis actually made plays and piled up yardage, but he just had a mental block where he'd throw backbreaking INT's that were returned for TD's, fumbles in the red zone, etc. Very frustrating after being used to a good game manager in Rivers and having some relatively good talent in the skill positions still.

Harrison Beck was just a Brett Favre loose cannon without the corresponding skill. Guy would just let it rip every play defenders be damned. Remember when he came in during the bowl game for RW and immediately lost the game with INT's? We should have gone with Evans instead, we had a nice lead at the time.

Evans was fairly cerebral and the guy really had some vintage jump ball throws against FSU where he just took advantage of a very talented receiving corps. Guy just didn't have a D-1 arm and couldn't make enough plays.

My favorite Beck moment was when he came into a game and overthrew his receivers so badly he still airmailed it over the deep safety by about 15 yards three times in a row.

Just sounds like he's saying all of the right things when it comes to complementing Brissett. I dont see him guaranteeing him the spot in 2014 but it seems moreso that Fowler is

I feel like Doeren looks at it more that we're going to have to run an offensive system that isn't what he, or his staff, came here to run with Stocker/Thomas at QB. Agreed it doesn't sound very good, and I wish he'd phrased it differently, but Stocker/Thomas aren't the type of QB's that Doeren recruits.

well for one, stocker and thomas are two completely different kinds of QBs.

for two, stocker and brissett have very similar measurables.

Things that stand out to be:

-Didn't know Jarvis Byrd had moved to FS (and is starting)

-Manny Stocker is the same height and 10 lbs heavier than Shadrach

-Didn't know Rod Noel wasn't starting at LB

-Honestly never even heard of our MLB (M.J. Salahuddin?)

-We're looking pretty strong at WR, DL, CB, and even OL ... whoever the QB is will definitely have some weapons and some semi-decent protection.

You know what? We may not be too bad this year. I didn't really follow the list of everyone we lost aside from the big name guys. We have a lot of returning guys that have logged solid playing time already. Not a great team, but solid. If we get good QB play this year, we might surprise ourselves.
