Well, why not include the driveway too while you are at it

Because the garage and deck are part of what is being upgraded.

What reason do people here have not to believe Jbaz? If really want to prove him wrong, ask him in private for some of the details and people's names. Not hard to verify things these days.

It is not like he is saying he is an astronaut or an athlete or a race driver.

My mom was born in Shanghai, China.

As far as the CL LED replacement light tubes, personally they seem expensive considering you have to do a bit of actual customization/DIY project work to use them in the first place. If you have to do that, then it's really not much more effort to buy LED light strips and make your own light tubes with frosted acrylic tubes and power everything off of just one large inverter that you'd hide just like the ballast. I plan on building something exactly like that for a client to be used in a workshop, but custom designing the lights to the entire length of the room instead of in sections, housed in some nice wood framing with a decent trim/crown work to look pretty.

JBaz QTip News!

I shot video coverage for the Escapist Magazine of the Escapist Expo first weekend of October; got some great footage and interviewed everyone of the big name panelists as well as a bunch of good interview subjects of the event. The Escapist enjoyed my video professionalism that I will be working with them on future projects as well as setting up the foundation as a publisher of my machinemia fortnite project that I'm leading over the coming months.

For most of October, it was spent going up to Richmond and renovated a 3 bed, 2.5 bath, 1800 sq ft. town house; did trim, crown molding, tile work, painting, full renovations of the baths and redid the back deck too. The house was on the market for 1 day and sold for above asking price, so I made bank. The 2nd to last week of October, I drove down to Florida for a friend's wedding in St. Augustine, but stayed the entire week in Miami/Jupiter area with my old photo bosses and booked three video shoots down there; mostly lifestyle/commercial videos. Finally, went back to Richmond to finish the last detail work on the house over Halloween; while there, I built a minigun prop for my costume in two days...

November, I went to DC at the beginning of this month and interviewed two astronauts, Michael Lopez-Alegria and Sandy Magnus, at the Air and Space Museum for a follow up documentary about the overview effect, in association with the Smithsonian. I joined the project last minute and have made some favorable impressions with my quality of work, work ethics and will continue with the documentary, interviewing other astronauts and people of interest over the next year who are involved with Space X and other companies within the air/space industry.

I also attended the NC Comic Con and took both stills and video of the two day event. I'm also currently talking with Animazement in Raleigh about being a staff coordinator/director of photography for that event coming next spring.

Currently, I just finished up some designs of some landscaping concrete bricks to be used as retaining walls with a built in recessed LED lighting. I'm just starting to make prototype molds this week and plan to play around with concrete to see if my design will work well. If all goes well, I may start production sometime in December so I can have enough bricks, LED and non-LED, done by spring/summer for my own landscaping projects. Plus, I got plenty of people interested in that idea as a product as well. I'm talking with my landscaping architect friend next week about my landscaping ideas and plans.

I'm also fixing up two houses this month, one with my general contractor friend, in Cary and Apex. I should be done with both by Wednesday to tackle other projects on my plate as well as setting myself up for other future projects. I've been asked by my contractor friend about being a partner to help him manage and oversee home improvement projects, but I'm down playing my role as just a business consultant, help him grown his business and instigating the position to one of my other friends who'd be better suited for the job.

I also started my teaching position at the Arts Institute two weeks ago and allocating thus far two days a month in teaching both stills and film. Its a bit dubious right now of my position over there since I'm technically considered a re-occurring guest speaker, but I'm hopeful by next semester, they'll bring me on as a more permanent instructor since they are just building up their film classes this year and don't exactly know how to use me just yet. Everyone seemed to be impressed with my work and ability to talk for a long period of time to the point of exhaustion... Ghee wonder why that is?

The LED spotlamp project has been on the back burner over the past month as I've been behind on my video/still editing needs, still need to take time out to develop the actual website (just have a placeholder for now) and taking on a lot of other projects that I didn't plan to take. I should restart that project in December and already have a good idea about building the chassis with fiberglass/carbon fiber using simple molds. I have a meeting with an industrial engineer about taking the next steps towards a full sized prototype. I've been also networking with some PC cooling engineers about using their contacts about manufacturing/milling cooling parts for me. I'm most likely going to build a simple outdoor, architectural LED flood lamp before jumping headfirst into photo/theatrical lighting as I continue to learn the LED and lighting industry.
