There is no tip option in the Uber app. I took one two days ago with an updated app, and it wasn't there.

If Uber drivers are expecting cash tips now, they are likely going to be disappointed.

Not really, no. I'm not getting fucked at all. Maybe the Uber driver is since he/she is driving for less money than before, but that's not my problem.

FWIW, I always check both apps when I need a ride, and I'll take whichever one is cheaper or will pick me up faster. Lyft is about to get a shot in the arm from some major investors to help with its network, but a lot of people out here drive for both companies at the same time.

Even though tipping isn't out yet. I just had a driver tell me all of his riders are giving him tips. The best thing about uber was always the lack of hassle. Time for someone to create a rideshare like old uber.

it's a tip. just don't tip them. if your usual grocery store put a tip line on the receipt, would you stop shopping there?

Work has been slow (like, near nonexistent) for weeks. I started giving Uber rides here and there when bored or when out and about running errands anyway. It's mostly kinda fun, at least the way I do it. I figure I make somewhere around $18-25/hour, averaging in the unpaid round-trip time it takes to get back home. If I'm not busy, that's enough to make it worth slow-rolling whatever I was doing and chat with a passenger or three for a few minutes.

people at the grocery store don't get to see your rating before deciding to check you out, just wait till all the checkout people give you shit ratings for never tipping then you'll be standing at the front with your stuff and no lines open to you
