Big loss, no doubt. He was the only game changing receiver on the roster. Doesn't really change the pecking order in our division but hurts our chances against the elite teams in the conference. It's a long season though, who knows how things will shake out. He won't be the only big injury in 2015/16, for us or the rest of the league.

Rivera has said we aren't reaching out to any WRs or looking to add anyone to the roster. Sounds like we're content with the WRs we have.

I don't see how adding Wayne is a big help, at this point in his career he'd be like having a 2nd Cotchery. Think we'll see Brown and Cotchery starting the year, Ginn working out of the slot, and then Funchess will be in the rotation and in near the goalline.

Getts isn't going to do any knee jerk signings or trades, that's not his MO. We were starting Daveeeeeeed Foucault against the GB Packers last year for god sakes. Maybe Marcus Lucas (6-4, 235) moves back to WR and has a better chance of making the roster now.

Is everyone still thinking Reggie Wayne is the same age as when he played with Peyton?

He has lost a few steps, last year he looked downright pedestrian at WR. The guy is about to turn 37. If he joined our team, and stayed healthy, he would basically just do what Cotchery does. He'd run good routes, get first downs, and be a veteran mentor to our young guys. He can't stretch the field, he isn't going to be a deep threat, last year he was getting caught from behind on passes that should have been TDs. I'm pretty sure he actually had quite a few drops last year as well.

Remember when Torry Holt and Jerry Rice were too old to play and continued to try and hang on with teams like the Raiders and Jags when they were basically useless on the field? Yeah, that's what Wayne will be out there this year.
