Yep, there are some who place the blame solely on the manager, then you have some who say the players need to step up and be a leader. I think it's a combination of both.

Where's the Roy Keane, Bruce, or Schmeichel figure in the dressing room? Players who are leaders?

Ah I forgot about that. Januzaj being cup tied didn't help either. Damn, could have used Young or Valencia then.

Valencia was supposed to play a part but I guess he didn't meet the fitness philosophy

edit: He is playing right back with the U21s tonight.

Pereira and Januzaj so that pretty much rules them out for Sunday

going to be out of two cups potentially, one foot out the door in one already. Wonder if that would then get LVG the sack and Giggs in charge till the summer?

Bayern should be down two goals. Lucky bastards. Moratta was called offside after a mistake by Neuer but Kimmich had him on. Brilliantly chipped Neuer to score but called back.

Shows how far behind Arsenal are (and how far ahead Barca are) that it was a 5-1 aggregate and I walked away thinking they didn't do themselves wrong in the tie.

Barcas frontline is just... the best ever.

Lol this shit is gold. 1 mistake by a young 21 year old and he is shit all of a sudden. Not surprised coming from ribs. BTW in case you missed it, it is the same kid that kept Sanchez in his back pocket all game after being booked 3 minutes into it against Arsenal. Also the same kid that Zidane had tremendous plaudits for at the Real Madrid castilla. However I guess the great ribs has spoken and Varela should hang up his boots right now.

I wonder what your opinion on Lamela was last year? God you must have hated him but you always rated him right?!

Where does Rooney fit in this XI honestly? Maybe you take Welbeck off and play him behind Kane?

I honestly think he'd play better as a super sub this summer.

Honestly at this point Welbecks work rate outweighs what Rooney can offer.

Kane's touch was ridiculous and Vardys flick was world class. Fun game for a friendly..

Rooney can still pick out a pass and understands how to break teams down. If you bring him on vs a tired side for 20-30 minutes it only magnifies his ability.

I'm proud to say this is going to be a Spurs dominated side this summer, and rightfully so. The amount of talent we have right now is unreal and they are all so young. Could have selected multiple Spurs players for MOTM but debutant Rose took it home for me.

I think Lallana needs to be off and Alli needs to play on the left with Rooney slotting into Alli's position. That gives the team depth with Lallana and Barkley available as replacements and I think Rooney brings out the best in a forward line consisting of:

---------------- Kane ------------------
Welbeck/Vardy, Rooney , Alli
--------- Henderson - Milner/Carrick----
---Shaw - Cahill - Smalling - Rose----
--------------- Butland ----------------

The team depth would then be:
Welbeck/Vardy
Sturridge
Lallana
Clyne
Jagielka/Dier
Forster
Barkley

I honestly think Carrick should be taken but he likely won't. I think a pairing of Henderson and Carrick will work best in that midfield.

I would personally hope Dier starts over Cahill and that Stones isn't taken to the Euro's. He has been atrocious. Also don't think Walcott should be taken.

Shaw starting? wtf

Rose at right back? wtf

Carrick/Milner over Dier? wtf

Alli on the wing? wtf

Head's gone man. Woy is a fool if he plays Alli anywhere but the #10. He and Kane have a partnership in there that Rooney couldn't duplicate. Not to mention their form has forced Woy's hand as they keep turning in MOTM performances for club and country. Hard to imagine the amount of backlash Woy would take if he shifts around the whole attack just to placate Rooney then they stall out.

The guy is a super sub at this point. Let him come in and play wherever the team needs help because he's so versatile. Alli has earned his spot more than any other player since he came into the England team.

Also, Butland is out of the Euro's

lmao. Rooney is undroppable and this backlash against him is absolutely hilarious. Alli is 19 and in a tournament of this caliber England need experience, especially when that midfield consists of Henderson and Milner. I am not surprised you don't appreciate what Carrick has to offer, just like most England managers haven't been able to. Also if you actually watched the friendlies you would have realized Alli was a lot more effective when he got pushed out to the wing against Germany after Lallana was subbed. Then again as someone who never had a vested interest in England till his spurs players came in I don't expect you to realize how the team works.

Also I know you are heavily biased but Alli having one good season does not give him the right to start over Rooney, who has consistently performed at the top level and is the captain of a group that lacks leadership right now.

Also you are an absolute fool if you don't think Shaw comes right back into this squad. He has started first team training with United this week. With matches still left to play he will be fit before the Euros. He was on fire before his injury and certainly is the best LB England has to offer.

^ Yes because England lack true quality. Alli and Kane are not world class players either mind you. When the team is down 1-0 in the 80th minute I know I would want the captain, a CL winner, and multiple premier league winner leading the line over some 20 year old who is just breaking onto the scene.

Part of one half is all wazza needed to be convinced of Alli's best position. And to think we've been playing him in the wrong spot this entire season where he's become one of, if not the best, teen in Europe. Lemme run phone Poch real quick and let him know he got this one all wrong.

Admittedly, I did have this brief thought during the comeback Saturday vs the world champs. "This looks like the best England side I've seen in more than a decade, but imagine if you add Fat Luke and Milner in it. The Germans wouldn't stand a chance" Then I passed out with excitement.

Hilarious that you don't understand that players need to make way to fit captains into a team, especially when that player is a 19 year old. The fact that you think "fat" Luke is shite is all I need to know to understand you have absolutely zero clue about England, or football for that matter. You just don't like Man United players I suppose but then again you don't like any players that aren't wearing a spurs shirt.

Also as per your convultued logic shouldn't Marc Albrighton and Drinkwater get a shot at the England team? Your only argument is that Kane and Alli have a great partnership and are playing for the 2nd best team in England this year. So shouldn't Vardy, Albrighton, and Drinkwater all start together since they have a great understanding and play for the BEST team in England this year?! Wow. Didn't realize ribs was such a great manager.

Lol Sir Alex was wrong too from time to time. The only reason Alli is in this conversation is because he has played well this season. To say Rooney shouldn't be starting is absolutely stupid. Especially considering he was in good form right before his injury.

Yeah, what a stupid reason to consider Alli... his great form in the most recent season leading up to an international tournament, combined with his good performances with England of late.

The worst part about you wazza isn't that you have wrong opinions occasionally, it's that you're so sure your opinion is right and anybody else that disagrees is "absolutely stupid." Look at your drivel about LVG last year when people pointed out United still had a ton of problems, for example.

If you think Rooney should start for England then fine. But to question his place isn't a crime against humanity. England looks very good recently without him, why not consider Rooney off the bench? Oh wait, it's probably because one guy plays for Manchester United and the other doesn't.

I actually gave a very good alternative on how you fit Rooney into the team and instead of discussing why it would work or wouldn't I got this:

Quote :
"you and klinsy would get along great with your head-scratching lineups"

Quote :
"Head's gone man. Woy is a fool if he plays Alli anywhere but the #10."

So its hard not to call others wrong when you yourself get the same shit.

We all know Roy isn't going to drop Rooney and as I have already mentioned England need a leader on the pitch. At the moment there just isn't one besides Rooney. Working from this frame of reference this is the best way I think Rooney fits into the team. I actually believe slotting Alli on the wing helps England. Alli is fast, has a good touch on him and adds to the versatility of the England line up. If Rooney was still 25 I would have actually pushed him out onto the wing but he has lost his pace as he has gotten older.

Also on Rooney, why not wait till the man is actually back from injury and see if he picks up the same form. Are you seriously going to tell me that if Rooney has good form going into the Euros that you would pick Alli at 10 over him? That would be ludicrous. If the Euro's started tomorrow yes Alli should play in his best position since Rooney is hurt but if Rooney is in good form going into the Euro's then yes he needs to be starting. If Rooney is as abysmal as he was from October - December I will be the first to say he needs to be dropped, this has nothing to do with United. Same goes for Shaw. Rooney and Shaw were in terrific form before their respective injuries and if they pick up that vein of form they have to be in the England line up.
