those passes are not as easy as you think. they have to be timed and positioned perfectly for the play to work. you could have perfect timing and accuracy but not enough velocity will get your guy blown up every time.

I wasn't trying to undermine Finley. He's been great for us, but it feels like he gets a lot of easy and short passes. If we could see a yards/attempt, I think that might be more indicative of the passing game.

I didn't really mean you, necessarily, although I can see how it came off that way. Seems like a lot of the old dudes on PP are very concerned about going deep or having a dual-threat QB when I think what Finley is doing is just fine for what our offense has to work with.

Just looked up his yards/attempt (8.9) on ESPN and he's actually tied for 25th in the nation, which is surprisingly high, IMO.

Doeren seems to always make the wrong choice when deciding to be conservative or aggressive. Our O had been tearing them up all day, use your TO's and try to do something at the end of the half!! Dont wast a possession.

Also, our special teams issues and penalties are getting annoying. Thats Hines second muff and Cherry prob shouldnt have caught that punt at the 4 yd line.

But anyway, offense looking good. Defense doing ok although we still have issues with a running qb, penalties and field position basically the only reason they've scored.

because it doesn't fit the narrative they started over a year ago that we would be screwed when brisset was gone. they built up the expectation that this season would be miserable because we had no qb and that if we somehow did have a qb, it would have to be mcclendon. we were all wrong about the qb situation and they don't want to dismiss old narratives.
