Clemson has the same QB, so I don't see the passing game improving much. Should be able to key in on Shipley again.

Still bitter he didnt pick ncsu but I just dont think he's tops in the ACC.

Dude from Cuse is really good. Don’t know about other ACC RBs. I think Shipley missed a couple games with injury last year. I remember him definitely getting better/putting up better numbers later in the season. And he was just a true freshman. So plenty of room to improve. I don’t think it’s too crazy to project him to have a big season.

Yeah he was apparently seen on the field with his left arm in a sling and according to Clawson he had a medical procedure last night and will return at some point this year.

Does beating a Sam Hartman-less Wake team hurt our SOS for the CFP? I think undefeated we get in regardless. But having Wake at full strength is sure to boost the strength of schedule.

^^. Ehh. Imo, Georgia State is less fun because there’s no local connection. Although I get the recruiting angle. App is better than ECU and therefore more likely to beat us than ECU. So I’d rather play the easier opponent (ecu).

Greg up in that area as an nc state fan, that fan base has a weird hatred for nc state while being unc/Duke basketball fans (and not caring about them in football). They have a bad history of fan behavior related to NC state and cried to the state legislature to get on the schedule. Ecu is desperate to play us and we (as fans, i believe) generally don't care about playing them at all.

I have a personal hatred but it's not a rivalry hatred bc I'd prefer to never play them again.

In state OOC games feel like a no win situation bc it's gets us no extra exposure from a recruiting standpoint (maybe coaches would correct me). But if we need to throw a bone to an in state school I'd pick app state every time bc fuck ecu.

As it stands now I hope we win and don't have to think about then again for awhile.

Also those weren't my reasons for not wanting to play them in Greenville. That is simple and I've said it before. We should NEVER play any non-P5 team not at home. It serves no purpose. If they won't agree to only playing us in Raleigh, don't play them. Don't do some bullshit playing them in Charlotte bullshit like we did in the late 90s/early 00s or whenever it was, just don't play them.

if you’re worried about losing, App State is way more of a threat than ECU is.

you can’t claim to want to be a program who wants to compete for championships and then worry about playing in-state OOC teams. if you’re championship-worthy, you’ll play anyone and expect to win

Championship teams don't play non-P5 road games. For example: Ohio State has played Cincinnati a whopping 12 times since 1900, 10 of them at home. Last road game was 2002 and the last one before that was 1900!

I don’t like ecu. I don’t care if we never play them again but I don’t hate playing them. I don’t have a strong take in this debate. But road games against non P5 teams is fairly lame but at our level we probably don’t have the same leverage as, say, Clemson to avoid some of those games.
