This is reminding me of the Devin Leary injury year when we needed a missed ECU field goal to get our opening win.

This can still be a year we compete for ACC crown, provided we play well at Clemson and Cal, but our next 2 non conference games now do not look like gimmes at all.

I did not like the body language of Grayson McCall at all on Saturday he looked like an FCS QB out of his depth in FBS.

So last year we struggled against an inferior opponent in game 1, then got popped by a superior opponent in game 2 but went on to have a good season, by NC State standards. Maybe Tennessee is the best team in the nation.

Bailey vs McCall feels a lot like Morris vs Armstrong last year (before Morris sat out). I don’t know for sure that Morris was actually better than Armstrong. And I don’t know for sure that Bailey is actually better than McCall. But the offense sure looked better with one guy than the other. Maybe some of it is playcalling and in-game adjustments. I don’t know. I don’t necessarily think Bailey is clearly great. That INT was pretty bad (McCall has some bad INTs too). But things were just better with him. And that’s kinda all that matters.

Bailey really stared down his receivers which is gonna be a problem. But his throws got to the receivers quicker and more accurately - things McCall struggles with.

Build Bailey for the future and go.

Yeah. One INT and another pass that should’ve been picked along the sideline. 2 INTs in less than 2.5 quarters is not great. Especially against La Tech. Clemson will be tough.

But Bailey showed some good stuff. seemed way more decisive than McCall. Got the ball out quicker. But those things can also result in turnovers too.

Separate from the QB stuff, our usage of KC has been weird this year to me. Feels like we’re not doing a good job getting KC the ball in space. He’s being targeted a lot and still getting rush attempts but it feels like he’s being put in positions where he needs to break tackles rather than getting him downfield in space where he can use his speed.

Take your kids out of soccer. Put them in pee wee football. They will learn and appreciate how to take a tackle, rather than flop and fake injuries. If you've got good genes you could end up watching them on Saturday's at noon in a Wolfpack uniform.

I forgot to mention that I am also the head coach lol. My assistant coach will definitely be able to cover for me if we decide to skip a week.
