If the above were true then sylar wouldn't have had Claire's power and would have died when Hiro stabbed him, thus saving NY. Are you saying that Peter blows up NY?

Bennett hid Claire after Sylar killed the OTHER cheerleader--remember when we were asking questions about the other cheerleader that Sylar DID kill?

Nathan protects Peter and blames Sylar--bringing on the "if we saved the cheerleader we would've saved the world" mentality

Sylar at some point kills Nathan, who's killed the chameleon chic, and assume power as the President...picks and chooses special powers as he pleases but kills the others through his genocide plan in which we've heard about tonight

Oh man, Peter Vs. Sylar. Even though we didn't get to see it, FUCKING AWESOME. As for the fight scenes, I guess we couldn't expect the blood and guts of the Matrix, or 30 minute fight scenes, but pretty good for network TV.

peter doesn't neccessarily have to die.... they can kill off sprague before peter can get his powers, or they can do a kill off sylar, who has killed sprague and thus absorbed his powers, before he meets peter. I'm goign with something happening to sprague before either peter or sylar meet him

and as far as peter's scar, what about if his powers were nullified by the hatian then received the slash across the face?

maybe the power isn't retroactive and won't recognize the scar as something that's fixable/out of the ordinary.

either way, it's way too easy to explain the scar.

Exactly. Also, the older Hiro also seemed to indicate that in his timeline Claire died and Slyar got her powers and lived when Hiro stabbed him.
If Claire was never killed, why would that Hiro need to go back in time to specifically state that Claire should be saved?
If Claire was killed how did she exist in the diner?

i bet it's the same girl - that parkman saved early in the series, cause I believe the blond FBI agent is supposed to reappear somewhere too.

Here's my understanding of events:
(1) "originally", Sylar was the bomb, but he had also killed Claire, so when Hiro tried to kill him, he regenerated (and Hiro presumably got the fuck out of dodge)
(2) after some time Hiro realizes that the crucial detail is the fact that Sylar has Claire's ability, so he travels to the "present" day to tell Peter to save the cheerleader
(3) The cheerleader was saved, but by some turn of events which we haven't yet seen, Peter ends up being the bomb, although Sylar still acquired Ted's power (and at some point Nathan's, Candace's, and DL's). Also, the "present" Hiro hasn't yet gone back to do the actual attempt to kill Sylar, so the future Sylar is alive and well.

Since apparently Peter and Sylar are interchangeable as the bomb, something else has to enter the picture to clean things up, since eliminating either Peter or Sylar or Claire alone isn't enough.

Wow....after seeing the idiotic theories regarding last nights episode I actually feel bad for making fun of my roommate who didn't understand it. Here is what happened:

Original Timeline: Sylar was the bomb, and he had killed Claire, so when Future Hiro tried to kill him, he regenerated. After some time Hiro realizes that the crucial detail is the fact that Sylar has Claire's ability, so he travels to the past (subway) to tell Peter to "save the cheerleader, save the world".

Current Timeline: Peter has saved the cheerleader (homecoming episode), and has met Ted. Thus Peter has exploding and regenerating powers. According to last nights episode, and common sense, Peter is now the cause of the explosion in New York. Ted and Claire are still alive so Syler does not have either power.

Only thing that bugs me is Peter's scar....I do like the idea of Haitian being nearby during the cut, and it not knowing to heal him afterwards.

Peter will die this season, esp. since they are adding in a new character, Molly, that can "stop Syler". After re-reading PatTime's post I see he is pretty on point, but it helps to reword this shit as it is pretty easy to get confusing.

Just thought of this concerning Peter's scar, what if he is able to control his power to the point that if he chose to, he could leave the scar. Maybe to help him remember a specific point in time, like blowing up the city.
