I wish some students would at least attempt to use the copier before calling me over there to do it for them. This guy had the paper drawer open and everything, calls me over and asks (sort of) how to do it.... Uhhh, drop the paper in the drawer you already opened. You're not going to get the hang of it if you don't at least try it. Then it jams, and he's like "What does this mean?" It means its jammed and you should look in the area where there is a flashing star. Good grief!

the mechanics don't want a CAD drawing from some intern. they just wanted me to check and make sure that if they did it, it wouldn't blow anything up.

and it won't

let me walk it down with them, point out the handful of constraints, and let them run with it. that's what any of the Sr engineers would do.


i guess i'm supposed to be learning the proper way to handle these things, but damn.

Yeah, sounds like they're just teaching you the ropes. You're not a Sr. engineer... so you gotta do the mule work!


But I can understand. If my boss has something for me to edit, he has to go through every single detail of every single edit with me first. Most of the time, I could have had it done and back to him before he even finishes explaining it. Or he could have had it edited [but that would eliminate my job] if he'd do it on the computer instead of printing out a piece of paper (or 15 pieces) and editing with pen, then explaining everything to me, THEN me doing it and giving it back! He's a great guy, great boss, great advisor and all... but some things just don't make sense!
