I still need help picking who to start tonight at Receiver: Jacoby Jones or Blair White

Going against Owen Daniels, I have Peyton and which ever receiver I choose left to play, and I'm up 21 pts, so the game is in the bag. But I need the most possible points, because while I am leading our league in wins/loss, I am about middle of the pack in over all points. I am thinking Jacoby Jones is good for some return yards, but blair white could get a TD. I mean, it isn't like it will hurt me to start the wrong guy, but I keep getting burned on the bench... last week with McFadden big time, and this week because I started S. Jackson over Tolbert. I would like to get this call right, but I don't know what the call is. Will Jones have any real looks on the field? I mean, he does have Johnson, Walter, and Daniels all competing (and probably with better looks). And they could just do the Arian Foster show again. Gah- I hate decisions like this- but at least I know that whatever I choose, I'll be going to 7-1

+1 to be being angry at Randy Moss for letting that ball bounce right next to him...I guess he still plays when he wants to play

and I'd say Blair White, but its basically like handicapping a Special Olympics race. Both are their teams third options at best and could easily get shut out, but I think the Colts will be pissed after losing to Houston earlier this year and will look to pour it on tonight, plus Houston has arguably the worst secondary in the league. Freeney + Mathis will do a good job of negating Schaub tonight, while Mario won't have much success getting to Peyton.

yeah, that's what I'm thinking... Jones is a safe play just to get a couple more points (~5ish), but White is the big risk/reward guy... I feel like he will get at least 3-4 catches for about 35 yards, which would almost match what I think Jones will do, but if one of those is for a TD, then I'm set. Basically, I just wanted more confirmation that I should start White and he was worth the risk. thanks!

sidenote: I also think White is more of a #2 this week, with collie out, clark obviously not there, and garcon and gonzalez both banged up with a hammy injury and ankle injury, respectively. That pretty much leaves only wayne ahead of him. Also, the texans are sporting the worst secondary in the league, so as long as Indy's O-line can stop the pressure for a little while, peyton should be a monster with white possibly receiving a good amount of looks

[Edited on November 1, 2010 at 11:05 AM. Reason : the more I think about it, the more I like white this week.]

In a stunning move, the Vikings released Randy Moss on Monday, according to NFL Network's Michael Lombardi.

This is nothing short of astonishing. While Moss' production has not been stellar since his trade to the Vikings, this move comes completely out of left field. Moss has become no better than a WR3 and is unlikely to rise above that value. What little fantasy value Brett Favre had is now gone and Percy Harvin's value takes a major hit given how effective he had been since the trade. "

Wow. This is unreal.

Interested to see who claims him, if anyone.

Bills have first dibs, then Panthers.

Crazy shit. One website's speculating it's because he gave up on that one play (which eventually led to Favre getting hurt). Don't know if I should still try to trade him or what. What a train wreck

45 up with Wayne and Owen Daniels to play tonight. Picking up Freeman to replace Romo was a solid move, at least for this week.

Should I stick with Freeman at QB (no backup on my roster), or make a move to trade for Eli Manning?

Even though I'm only 5-3, I've been happy with my scoring consistency so far (86-105 pts)..nothing fancy, but it gets the job done and forces my opponent to play an all-around solid game to beat me (I haven't lost by more than 7 all season).

With Manning, I'm afraid my team might live and die by how the Giants do each week since I have Nicks & Bradshaw...aside from that, I've got fairly decent depth for a 12-person league with no dumbasses in it (Gore, Bradshaw, Moreno @ RB; Nicks, Wayne, Steve Johnson, Harvin, Welker, and Colston @ WR; Gonzalez and Daniels @ TE).

Going to improved to 4-4 in both my leagues. That's about what I expected in my ESPN league...and worse than I expected in my Yahoo league.
This coming week I've got to deal with Chris Johnson having a bye week (on both of my teams).

I'm trying to figure out whether I should be adding Brandon Tate, Heyward-Bey, or Steve Breaston.

I don't want to add a RB b/c I am pretty set with MJD, McFadden, and McCoy (Tolbert is a servicable bye-week fill-in/flex option).

I am hesitant to add Breaston since I have Fitzgerald and the Arizona passing game is so inconsistent. Of course you have 3 inconsistent options there, and I have Branch already. I really hope Floyd and D. Jackson get healthy so I don't have to play any of them...

My ESPN league team is gonna take a hit this week...Orton, Chris Johnson, Ryan Torain, Scobee, and my D all have bye weeks...

Speaking of which, any ideas/advice on an RB to pick up this week to fill in one of my spots left open due to a bye?
Michael Bush, Snelling, LaRod Stephens-Howling (thinking maybe he'll get more carries this week), Marion Barber are available. Nothing too great to choose from...

Yea, I might take another loss in my 16-person league, Steven Jackson & Brandon Lloyd are on BYE and I'm playing someone who has Arian Foster, Andre Johnson, Maclin, and Flacco this week

Luckily I traded Malcolm Floyd & Deion Branch for Calvin Johnson, hoping that will give me a boost in the next 2 weeks since Rivers & Ryan Matthews will be out next week.

Next 2 weeks are iffy for sure.

Guru, I'm having a hard time deciding who to burn my waiver on this week. It is between Blount and Giants D. I'm currently rostering 5 RBs: Mendenhall, Beanie Wells, Michael/Reggie Bush and Green-Ellis. As for Def, I'm picking up the best available every week. It worked out ok last Sunday with Tampa, but would want something more consistent getting closer to playoffs. Thoughts?

I get Greg Jennings and Ced Benson
I give Antonio Gates

Both Jennings and Benson would start on my team...I'd have to pick up a TE

hmmm...sounds worth it.

Ok, I have Mendenhall, McFadden, Best, and Blount at RB. I start Jennings and Ocho at WR. Both start 2.

Should I trade Mendenhall/Gaffney for A. Johnson/S. Greene?

^I don't know. That's tough. Shonn Greene really isn't going to help you much at all. I would lean toward no...I feel like you might be giving up too much (Gaffney and Ochocinco's numbers are pretty similar). I know A Johnson is a monster...that's a tough one.

Just to throw a wrench in my last trade proposal I was just offered this:
I get: Fred Jackson and DeSean Jackson
I give: Antonio Gates

and my other offer on the table from someone else:

I get: G Jennings and Ced Benson
I give: Gates

Any thoughts on either of these offers?

Yesterday, I traded Moss, Mendenhall and Orton for Brandon Lloyd, Ryan Matthews and Matthew Stafford.

I already have Arian Foster and Bradshaw as my starters, and Lloyd would now partner with Calvin Johnson and Dwayne Bowe as my starters.

I also have Vick as my QB. So happy to get rid of Moss though.

sounds similar to my team

Philip Rivers QB
Lesean McCoy RB
Steven Jackson RB
Ryan Matthews RB
Terrell Owens WR
Brandon Lloyd WR
Calvin Johnson WR
*need to pickup WR on waiver for this week only* - possibly Patrick Crayton or Heyward-Bey or Tate or Mason
Vernon Davis TE
Aaron Hernandez TE (for bye week 9)
Bears & Patriots D/ST
Carson Palmer QB (for bye week 10)

*I have a 3 RB limit and 4WR limit in 16 person league, so has to be WR

I'm hoping my Calvin Johnson trade gets approved, stupid league manager has VETOS set to ONLY 2 to reject trade, in a 16-person league there's a good chance there will be 2

Quote :

Should I use #2 waiver position on Joseph Addai with SJax, Tolbert, D Brown, and F Jones or just save it for the playoffs?

Addai's injured and you already have D.Brown. I doubt Addai will be picked up on waivers, so why not just wait and swap out D.Brown for Addai later? You know once Addai comes back D.Brown's worth will go down. But you may want to do it now anyhow since D.Brown isn't going to do anything.

Waiver's only worth it if you think the player will be picked up by someone else. You may want to try to pick up Addai and drop D.Brown if you can get past the next couple weeks on byes with SJax & Tolbert's bye weeks the next 2 weeks, which if you only need to start 2 RB's than you're good since F.Jones already had his bye.

But keep in mind no one knows how long Addai will be out.

^^^I'd go Crayton if it's just for this week.

I'm hoping to get rid of Moss sometime early this week. Which of these do you think are viable trade options for Moss:
-Pierre Garcon
-Davone Bess
-LaSean McCoy

All those guys are people that could start for my team right away. I'm hoping the name "Randy Moss" gets the attention more than the actual player.

^ don't do it.

No one runs more than KC, and despite Schuab's troubles, he's the one who has Andre Johnson. If I was forced to choose, I'd put my money on Schaub turning things around before I put my money on Cassel leading you to the championship.

Ok...I rejected the DeSean Jackson/Fred jackson for Gates trade.

He counters with something a little more inticing:
I get: Austin Collie (or DeSean Jackson he said he would substitute if I wanted), Fred Jackson, Vernon Davis
I give: Gates and Mike Williams (TB).

my other offer on the table is

I get: Greg Jennings and Ced Benson
I give: Gates

FWIW, my 2 RBs are Chris Johnson and Felix Jones...Benson would start over Jones. I'd probably play match-ups with F Jackson/F Jones.

Thoughts? I'm definitely considering this new offer more than I was his initial offer. But just looking for some other opinions.

Guy offered me Miles Austin for L.McCoy. I countered with Austin and Ahmad Bradshaw and for McCoy and T.Jones (he already has Jamal Charles so he'd have a handcuff if one got hurt). Dude does not like to play Bradshaw and keeps him on the bench.

I need a WR as I have Randy Moss, Desean Jackson, Malcom Floyd, Steve Johnson, and J.Maclin. I am starting Johnson and Maclin this week How pathetic as I thought WR was my strength coming out of the draft. I have Turner and Foster as my other RBs along with T.Jones and McCoy.
