Big Manchester United news development coming tonight, apparently
Goal.com has something on Facebook about it. Dude I follow on Twitter who has been reasonably right on lots of shit says a majority of the board are fed up with Moyes' shit and want him out. 3/26/2014 6:21:29 PM |

as promised:
http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2014/03/26/4711280/manchester-united-considering-moyes-replacements?ICID=HP_HN_1
I think with the Scholes appearance on Sky, it's a matter of "when" and not "if"
Telling quotes from the piece:
Quote : | "Having already sanctioned a spend of over £60 million on two headline transfers, handed Wayne Rooney a club-record contract renewal, and approved an unprecedented recruitment spend for this summer, the Glazer family is said to be concerned that the Scot will continue to damage the value of their asset." |
Matches what i've been saying for a while
Quote : | "The award of a six-year contract was essentially a PR play, with Moyes' contractual terms including a break clause that enables the Americans to sack him at far less than the full salary costs of that term." |
Which is pretty standard contract stuff, to be fair.
Goes on further to point out that both Woodward and players are pissed because Moyes is dragging their perception down a few pegs by his hapless management and tactics, while constantly throwing those same players under the bus for "underperforming."
I know a lot of people would insinuate that teams like Chelsea and Spurs (don't get mad, Ribs) haven't done themselves any favors over the long period by dropping managers repeatedly, and that united don't need to start down the same path.... but from my perspective, if a manager is destroying the chemistry of a team, or the fabric of the club, then they have to go sooner rather than later. Chelsea made some dumb decisions - Ancelotti comes to mind - but on the whole they've performed triage as needed and gotten results to boot. I think comparatively Spurs have suffered because of Levy.

I wouldn't say that. Liverpool cannot themselves afford to lose to City and probably need to beat them, but as long as City drop points somewhere along the line
oh wait

okay, so yeah, I guess City needn't necessarily drop points against Arsenal. Besides Arse and Liverpool, they have 7 games against non-contenders (one of whom is Everton), and it's tough for ANY team to win 7 given games in their domestic league. Slipups are bound to happen now and then.
Of course, the "slipups" thing applies to Liverpool too, but a City win over Arsenal won't settle the matter, for me. But it would be mighty convenient if Arsenal could beat the shit out of City tomorrow3/28/2014 12:24:24 PM |

Arsenal have been humiliated by City and then by Chelsea
surely they've learned something from those beatdowns
at any rate, they'll probably try to be a bit more solid defensively...that doesn't mean they can stop City, but they'll undoubtedly make a serious, deliberate effort to try. also, they'll be mad. 3/28/2014 1:27:10 PM |

Arsenal is all but done from the title race, and that final nail in the coffin is likely coming this weekend against City. Its a very tight race and will shape up to be an exciting one.
Chelsea (69 points) Crystal Palace v Chelsea (3 points) Chelsea v Stoke City (3 points) Swansea City v Chelsea (3 points) Chelsea v Sunderland (3 points) Liverpool v Chelsea (0 points) Chelsea v Norwich City (3 points) Cardiff City v Chelsea (1 point) Total: 85 Points
Liverpool (68 points) Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur (3 points) West Ham United v Liverpool (1 point) Liverpool v Manchester City (1 point) Norwich City v Liverpool (3 points) Liverpool v Chelsea (3 points) Crystal Palace v Liverpool (3 points) Liverpool v Newcastle United (3 points) Total: 85 points
Manchester City (66 points) Arsenal v Manchester City (3 points) Manchester City v Southampton (3 points) Liverpool v Manchester City (1 point) Manchester City v Sunderland (3 points) Manchester City v West Bromwich Albion (3 points) Crystal Palace v Manchester City (3 points) Everton v Manchester City (1 point) Manchester City v Aston Villa (3 points) Manchester City v West Ham United (3 points) Total: 89 points
For me this is how it shapes up. Chelsea have too many distractions for me to think they will win the title. Liverpool don't have the experience and mentally it remains to be seen if they can handle a title challenge. They have done well to put themselves in contention, but winning a title is a different kind of beast and Liverpool have the ability to maybe sneak it if they can mentally handle the pressure.
City have too much quality in their squad and without distractions I expect them to remain unbeaten for the rest of the year. However, Pelligrini as experienced as he is, may also hurt them here. Can he motivate his team to see it through or will the inconsistency they have shown on occasion this year creep in again?
In terms of tactics and teamwork, I believe Mourinho is the best placed. He has been here before and can deliver of course. Liverpool is just behind and Rodgers can probably get the most out of his team out of the three managers. This is where Pelligrini and city could lose if Rodgers can push his players to the limit.
It will be a very interesting April. 3/28/2014 2:24:47 PM |

Lol. But that's the thing about picking specific upsets...it's impossible, you've just got to get lucky. City are probably going to win any particular one of their remaining games (except maybe the one with Liverpool), but they're probably not going to win all of them. But it's difficult to pick the random upset, because its occurrence will emerge from collective likelihood, not individual likelihood.
It's like trying to pick the occasion upon which, when you have sex with a random stranger, you'll get AIDS. If you fuck enough random people it will probably happen, but you can't say when.]3/28/2014 3:51:06 PM |

As a title winner you have to go on the road and get results in April/may. If you read my post I am clearly giving pool a lot of credit but west ham away is a tough fixture and if West Ham have a good day they could get stuckin. This is where experience comes in.
Also I agree that picking where these teams drop points is hard to predict. We know they will drop points but the exciting bit is when and where.
On a man united note I am so happy the banner stunt backfired completely. These fans are petty idiots who would do well to support someone else. I can understand wanting Moyes out but let's not look like sooilt brats and trust the clubs judgment. 3/29/2014 12:01:23 PM |
