I honestly would have been more satisfied with a 10 second intro of Jack sleeping on a plane, 2.5 hours of commercials, and then 10 seconds of someone waking him up saying it was all a bad dream.

Atleast then I would think the directors were just brilliant business men rather than mediocre writers.

Exactly, the show has always been about people and the jacob scene last episode was most indicative of that. I was really kind of expecting Ben to die, i guess he got his fair share of revenge for not being able to move on but that was really the only thing i was disappointed with.

no, the sopranos had the #1 cop out finale. it was still good and made sense ending the series the way it started (a day in the life of a mafia boss), but it was still a cop out.

Agreed, Sopranos takes the cake on that one. They could have done a lot more with the finale but was a decent episode for just entertainment's sake

It essentially explained the sideways world and how it tied in but didn't answer any of the weird shit that happened when they were on the island. They were able to kinda tip-toe around that by tossing in alot of emotional stuff. In the end, lots of questions still remain.

So, those of you that liked this episode/show enough to care to answer...what do you guys think happened in that ending? Was everyone there dead? Did Hurley, Ben, Sawyer, Kate, etc. all die later and then "meet up" with them? Why was Christian the one to walk out into that light? Did they die when the plane crashed?

Yeah guys, the island, original timeline, whatever you want to call it was not purgatory. That all happened. The sideways universe was some sort pre-afterlife they all created after the detonation of jughead.

The way I took it was they didn't die on impact. Everything on the island, including the shit that made no sense, was real. So, they fact that they eventually died of something doesn't all of a sudden made the unexplained weird shit make sense.
