I still wish they didn't really show his face much and kept it concealed by wind and snow and just showed the eyes or something.

I really liked the ending. I have not read the books at all so I have no complaints about how awesome this show is except for the fact that I was told the books weren't as sexual.

Ehh, I think the books were just as sexual, except that most of the people involved were like 14.

The books are more sexual than the show in my opinion. The sexual parts were always really awkward for me to read because they seemed so corny and juvenile to me, haha. Whenever I read those parts in the books it made me think that GRRM is a really horny, really nerdy dude. Not that there's anything wrong with that, he's a great fucking writer.

there is a difference between literary sexuality and what's on the show. it's not descriptions of big floppy titties everywhere

I completely agree with ^^ the sex scenes in the book I read sounded like what someone who has never had sex before would write. He's a good writer, but the sex stuff in the book is really poorly done.

I mean I'm fine with it. But gimme a break, if the warlock dude knows that dragon's fire will fuck him up do you think he's just gonna hang out around dragons? No. Just like Superman didn't decorate his ice lair with kryptonite for the fuck of it

^ I think he was just surprised that they could blow so much fire. Danny was just barley able to teach one of them how to roast his food. So when 3 of those cute little boogers let loose hell on earth, he was probably a little shocked.

Also an fyi: Danny commanded "dracarys" to her dragons which is High Valyrian for "dragonfire"

^^ a little different though because the dragons being close to him is actually the thing that he believes is making him powerful.

i think the status of chubby was clearly meant to be a cliffhanger

but maybe the walkers dont care about cowards, like how they let the one guy go in season 1, ep 1

yeah, definitely a little cliffhanger. Also, that white-walker dude is clearly a badass leader/general of some sorts... badass leaders of some sort don't get off their zombie horses to kill weakling, cowards like that guy. They leave that to lesser zombie soldiers. There appeared to be at least dozens if not hundreds (maybe thousands) more coming up behind him. Any one of them could probably take care of that guy.

I thought the white walkers were 7-8 feet tall, and were more animalistic. But my memory from episode 1 is hazy.

Nonetheless, that picture above creeps me out.

http://torrentfreak.com/game-of-thrones-most-pirated-tv-show-of-the-season-120608/

Most pirated show of the season...by a large margin. The amount of money HBO is losing by not having a pay per episode service isn't fathomable. Actually one could fathom it if they knew a realistic pricing structure and knew the cost of cutting deals with iTunes and Amazon etc.

^^IIRC HBO has hinted that they would actually be interested in that but they are pretty tied up for the time being with contracts between them and satellite/cable companies. I could be remembering that incorrectly but when the pilot was being shot for HBO I was doing a lot of reading into whether HBO planned to do anything like that within the next couple years before I signed up for my Dish contract and I seem to recall that.

Either way, I really believe that HBO Go is partly a test for them to see how responsive people are to viewing their shows through non-cable/non-satellite methods (even if you do need a subscription to get access for now)

Regarding the dragons killing warlock part...

I just took it that the warlock (who wasn't really as powerful as he let on to be, but that has been covered) wasn't expecting the dragons to be able to breathe fire in that magnitude, if at all. That, plus the fact that dragon fire in this story is pretty much hotter than hell and the end all be all of fire, and a few little bursts of flame was all it took to engulf and kill him. /shrug

Yeah, I love it. They spend several episodes showing you a giant fortress designed withstand anything that was fucking melted by dragon fire and one effeminate idiot gets killed by it and you're all incredulous.

And on the other hand people shouldn't be such cheap asses. Sure HBO is $15/month, but now that comes with HBOGo. So what you do is find a friend that wants to watch the content HBOGo has to offer and give him your password, for a free of $7-8/mo. Viola, you both have HBO for $7-8/month.

except that you're also required to pay for a certain tier of cable/satellite with that, as well...so it's probably more like $50/month for HBO for those who don't really want/watch cable

i suspect that they'd gladly pay $15/month for HBOGo (i know i would) if they didn't have to pay for the other bullshit channels they don't want and won't watch in the first place

and so, at $50/month...it's easier to pirate it

*shrug*

[Edited on June 12, 2012 at 3:50 PM. Reason : i'm not defending the pirating, just pointing out that HBO isn't as cheap as it seems]

^Truth. You can't have just basic cable and HBO, you have to have some kind of digital preferred service or something. If you already have this, HBO is only an additional $13 or something a month but if you are getting cable JUST to watch HBO it is quite a bit more for all the BS channels.

I bet a lot of the people that pirate the show would complain if HBO took it off the air due to it was too expensive for HBO to continue to justify compared to the subscribers that sign up due to GOT.

If you really like the show and you already have cable or satellite there is really no excuse. Both seasons we picked up HBO the day before and canceled the day after. With the prorating and such it came out to like $32 each season.

If that's too much, try and find a friend/friends to go in together with to get HBO. I'm sure they'd rather have 1 subscription with 4 people watching than 4 people pirating.

Otherwise, if you pirate the show because you don't have and don't want to pay for the cable and HBO that's completely understandable, but I really hope you buy the DVDs or Blu-ray imo. At the price-point of the DVDs and all the extras they come you are getting a lot for what is, at worst, equivalent to what you probably would have paid if HBO did have some sort of direct-subscription deal. That's your way of putting your money where your mouth is basically. For now that's your way to support the show/HBO by only giving your money to those involved versus paying for all the cable channels you don't care about.

And, for a premium channel that doesn't have commercials, they don't really care that much how many people watch, rather they care how many people pay to watch in one form or another.
