just when you're about to disown them for good, they say something like this
http://pitchfork.com/news/39823-weezer-plan-blue-lpipinkertoni-tour/
Quote : | "The newly major-label free Weezer have a new album, Hurley (aka the one with the absurd, Lost-referencing album cover), out September 14 via Epitaph. They've got a new single out, too, the alt-rock-tastic "Memories". Lots of looking ahead towards the future, right? Well, it seems that Weezer might look back with a possible tour that would find the band playing their two most beloved albums, 1994's Weezer (aka "The Blue Album") and 1996's Pinkerton, in their entirety, as MTV reports.
Frontman Rivers Cuomo told MTV News about the possible touring plans while shooting the sure-to-be-ridiculous video for "Memories": "We have this really exciting idea to do a tour where we spend two nights in each city, and the first night, we play the entire Blue Album, and the second night, we play the entirety of Pinkerton. We're just running it by promoters right now to see if there's sufficient interest in the markets to do something like that, and if they're on board, it's gonna happen."
Drummer Pat Wilson added to MTV, ""Yeah, it would probably be a Blue/Pinkerton tour. It's an idea, we're still examining the mathematics of everything, looking at the logistics and schedules ... you know." Sounds like it might happen, then-- let's hope they don't play, uh, anything after Pinkerton." |
if this does happen, I will be more than happy to travel wherever I need to to see it8/20/2010 2:12:48 PM |

Deftones this Friday in Charlotte. Stoked. I hate going to concerts by myself though. Very rarely have I done it but it looks like that will be the case here :/ Friends are either seeing them other places or busy this weekend. I bought my ticket regardless knowing that might be the case so oh well.

Caught Nas and Damian Marley this past weekend at the HOB in Myrtle Beach. Amazing. I've seen Nas before, so I knew he would bring it, but was blown away by Damian Marley. He was awesome. Full band, tons of energy. They performed half of their album together...then Nas solo for 4 or 5 songs, then Damian solo for 4 or 5 songs...back together for a couple song...left the stage, came back for an encore...2 songs together...One Mic solo...Welcome to Jamrock solo...then back together for my favorite song of their new album, "Africa Must Wake Up."
Definitely goes into my top 5 best live performances. 8/30/2010 8:41:27 AM |

this might be somewhere in here, but i don't feel like looking. i'm just posting this because i learned of the black keys through tww.
they're opening for Kings of Leon in Raleigh on Monday night. it's at Walnut Creek, so that will suck, and Kings of Leon will probably suck.. they sound like a band that girls like though, so maybe it'd be fun to go and look at girls. also, tickets are $40-50-70, so yeah.. probably not going, but I hadn't heard that they would be here so that's cool 9/7/2010 10:22:47 PM |

well JimmyEatWorld last night at the orange peel was absolutely amazing.
They opened with their new single (record comes out next week), but from what I remember they played these songs:
My Best Theory Bleed American Your New Aesthetic A Praise Chorus Let it Happen Work For Me This is Heaven Futures Big Casino Dizzy Coffee & Cigarettes(really fucking bad song off the new record ) Movielike Hear You Me Evidence Goodbye Sky Harbor (extended version)- Jim live vocal looped the same parts he sang on Clarity. it was absolutely incredible. looped about 5 vocal tracks live on stage in the song over the top of eachother, then played the bells on top of it. worth the drive right there.
Encore: 23 Pain The Middle Sweetness
no Blister, but overall it was a really good concert and definitely worth the trip. Have to say that For Me This is Heaven & Goodbye Sky Harbor were easily my 2 favs.
As far as their new material is concerned, i just don't think it even begins to compare with material from Futures and prior. I was extremely happy they played a few songs off Clarity...wish they played the entire album lol.
