^well, that explains why he will always go for the block instead of boxing his man out. Besides him going for the ridiculous block attempt, our defense was superb. Brown and Howell forced Howard(3-21 in the ACC) to throw up a prayer that had little chance of ever going in.

Do people seriously think Robinson should be playing but the coaches, who see him everyday in practice, just refuse to play him?

yes, i'm sure there are people who actually think the walk on would be lighting up the acc if given a chance to do so

The rare time that his phenomenal defensive instincts failed him!!! He's got to be close to tops in the nation in blocked shots with those instincts...amirite??

He played that shot no differently than any other shot coming in for the weak side block. Brown was there in the area too and could've just as easily rotated over to put a body on Len once Howell picked up Howard.

^^^he's 12th in the conference and aside from KJ McDaniels, everybody else is taller and heavier than he is

but we get it, you think he's one of the worst defensive players in the country because nobody on our team but Howell can rebound

and his instincts are terrible, if a player on the other team throws him the ball, he's lucky to not trip over his own shoelaces, let alone catch it

[Edited on January 17, 2013 at 3:57 PM. Reason : he's one of 3 players in the conference who averages at least 1 block and 1 steal per game]

[Edited on January 17, 2013 at 3:59 PM. Reason : and he's top 10 in rebounds]

I'd like to see more of robinson. obviously not in close games, but if we could ever blow someone out with nore than five minutes to go in the game I'd like to see him play against decent competition. He's clearly athletic

I wonder if Josh Davis would be getting much run on this team now if he were still around. He'd be a junior, correct?

what a stupid, knee-jerk, stupid thing to say. but yeah, that was a horrible effort. i'm not sure if he's ready for the NBA, may need another year, and i would be thrilled if he came back.

I would love CJ to be here next year...I can't imagine how good we could be w/ him and Randle (Possibly) along with good bench players like Washington and Anya.

Someone needs to tell CJ to stop trying to block shots. He falls for every pump fake, and yesterday it cost him a bunch of early fouls. Not to mention that he can't possibly get into position to get rebounds from the shots he fails to block, which is most of them.

Later in the game when he had four fouls and was playing good defense he was causing players to miss shots. Then he was turning around and getting rebounds. THAT'S the defense we want from CJ.

CJ is probably going to go to the NBA after this year. Is he as dominant as everyone thought he would be this year after our run to end the season last year? No, he's not. I think that little run made everyone think we'd be on cruise control all year rolling over teams left and right. I think even the players bought into that hype.

Having a game called the way it was last night exposed our depth issues. It also exposed our lack of mental toughness. CJ let frustration get the best of him multiple times last night. That's something he's got to work on, but he's still extremely talented.

The season isn't over. CJ isn't all of a sudden terrible because he came up small last night. The real test for him and the rest of this team will be how they respond and grow from these mid season struggles.

I was pissed last night too. I hated how that game went. It was one of the more frustrating games I've had to watch in regards to this team. But let's not dismiss one of the more talented players to come through Raleigh in a long time over a crappy stretch.

In my opinion last night hurt bad, but it could have been worse. We absolutely QUIT against Ok. State at the start of this season. That was the first exposure to our lack of mental toughness. Last night, we were down a ton with 3 minutes to go and battled back to have a chance to win. They could have laid down and let Wake run up the score to end the game. Early season Wolfpack would have done just that. They battled back last night and had a chance to win the game.

Acting like we'd be in this position to be mad about all this without CJ on this team is ridiculous. He's helped get us to this point and he'll get it turned around at some point. Hang in there and have faith in this team, even through the rough times.

Look, with the exception of marginally better shot selection (and only because Gottfried will actually pull his ass when he takes bad shots, something Lowe never did), CJ Leslie is the exact same player he was his freshman year. He still has terrible footwork that leads to frequent turnovers due to traveling. He's still careless with the ball. He still tries to go for goal tends instead of playing good defense and rebounding. At some point, we just have to accept who he is: a supremely talented athlete with all world potential, who simultaneously could care less about actually living up to that potential. Maybe he'll start caring at the next level when play time and $$$ are on the line, but that doesn't matter right now. With basically no one threatening to take his minutes, he's not going to get any better.

CJ is gone, but wouldn't it be a nice dream to have a starting five of lorenzo brown, rodney purvis, tj warren, cj leslie, and either washington, any or vanderburg in the middle? With Ralston Turner subbing in for rodney, Tyler subbing in for Lorenzo, and Washington and or Anya/Vanderburg in for each other and CJ?

When he's motivate he's good, he's very, very good. When he's not there's no one more frustrating to watch. Sometimes he makes me miss Kenny Inge, other times he reminds me of Julius Hodge.

I think it was smart gameplanning. Going straight at Macadoo to get CJ going and hopefully get him an early foul was huge. I certainly didn't expect JMM to pick up 2 early ones though.

I stand by everything I said. Dude had a nice game last night, but if he goes out and seems invisible for 30 minutes against UVA no one will be surprised. He's just way too schizo to be your reliable "go to guy" every game.

gotta give props for manning up while sick and putting the team on his back with another double-double. 7 turnovers is absurd (UVA finished with 8 total), but he got pushed out of bounds on a couple of those baseline drives
