I'm relatively sure that the appeal would boil down to us asking for an Initial Eligibility Waiver (http://tinyurl.com/9p79s6l), which wouldn't have been granted during the initial review. Essentially, as I understand, the NCAA sometimes makes exceptions, but only if you file an appeal -- the first time around they have to rule "by the book."

Gottfried really fucked up in not addressing the lack of backcourt depth after Raymond transferred out. If Bzdelik can field a full squad after having like 6 guys transfer out, Gottfried ought to be able to sign enough guys that we're not to the point of having to use walk-ons in the rotation.

Is it your perception that there's just a line of 3-4 star guards waiting to sign with us and all we had to do was offer one? outside of a 1-year alex johnson type guy, i'd prefer we don't spend a scholarship on a guy that will just end up being a practice player that gets garbage time minutes.

I'm a bit confused about the doom and gloom. Nothing has changed and no decision has been made one way or another from what I've seen. Fay Observer posted about what Armstrong said and the line "As it stands though currently, Purvis can't play this season" is in no way tantamount to "he has been ruled ineligible."

It's the status quo. He isn't cleared by the NCAA so therefore he can't play. Once he is ruled ineligible that is when we can really worry. Everything else is just noise.
