I like how rival fans/ncstate shit pussy fans think we're such a pushover when Rodon doesn't pitch. I think today made us 32-5 over our past 37.

Paul Mainieri is so not a name I would associate with head coach of LSU.

And Ben McDonald has to be the biggest (non-NASCAR) hayseed to ever hit the ESPN studios.

I'd rather go up against UNC again than have to play LSU at all.

UNC's bats have been cold, especially against us, so I'm hoping it comes down to us vs them to get into the final.

^UNC's bats against Rodon have been cold. The other game we played them, they plated 7 I think.

Honestly, I'd rather go up against LSU. I could stomach a loss to them. Losing to UNC would piss me off to no end.

Last night's LSU/UCLA game was a lot of fun too. UCLA winning puts as the home team in the winners bracket game which is huge.

So many of the Miss. St. Congratulated us just for being Pack fans and the LSU fans in our hotel were extra quiet this morning at breakfast after being so full of themselves yesterday.

If you are a baseball purist this is an event you need to visit. Can't wait to catch a couple more games today

Brett Williams did the golf clap after his RBI double in the 17th against Rice, so it's become our thing.

From what I've seen online UCLA's lineup isn't all that dangerous (hitting less than .260 as a team I think) and stacked with a lot of lefty's. Feel like Stone (LHP) may get the start with Ogburn ready in relief behind him. The winner of this one tonight gets two chances at advancing I believe, with a game Friday and if a loss then again on Saturday, so tonight's pretty huge. We really need the offense to come out like they did against Carolina.

In a perfect world if it all were to line up for us - I'd go Stone/Ogburn tonight and if we win tonight throw Jernigan on Friday, so that if we lose Friday we have Rodon for either a winner take all game Saturday, or if we win Friday we have Rodon for game 1 of the championship series.

^ Agree with all of this. Think Stone should get the start but Avent's gotta have a short hook if we get down a couple. UCLA's pitching seems too strong to mount much of a comeback if we get behind early.

^^I agree.

NCSU/UCLA loser vs LSU/UNC winner Thursday 8 eastern
Winner of that game vs NCSU/UCLA winner Friday 8
Saturday if Necessary

Championship series begins Monday at 8.

I heard on the radio last night, an interview with Stone, discussing his start vs UCLA. He said he was nervous and excited... Cliche, but that's what you get with a Fr.

I would like to save Ogburn for our third game, and use our great bullpen tonight and game three when Stone and Ogburn hit their wall. Save Rodon until game four, hoping and assuming we have a game four. Game four is either our final clincher to go to the championship game or game one of the championship series, either way... In Rodon We Trust.

^ What about Jernigan? He's had better starts than anyone for us not named Rodon over the last month, although he's still working up to going more than 5 innings or so.

Figured we would play Jernigan.

I think we win this and then we have Stone pitch our next game.

Jernigan is a solid guy...As long as we get any offense going at all he should be able to go 7 and then finish with Ogburn & company.

Hoping Brett Austin has another hit(s) today...we really need him in that part of the order.

ahhhh im excited. ready for 8.

Rainy morning here in Omaha, but it should pass by soon. Don't see the 3ET start getting pushed back, just might be a little overcast.

Yesterday as soon as Louisville lost all of their merchandise went 50% off. Lets hope the same happens with the Heels

The more I read about UCLA, the less I like Jernigan over Stone today. UCLA typically starts 6 lefties and 3 righties and they also seem to capitalize on a lot of walks, which has historically been Jernigan's biggest issue. Well, that and punching walls.

Nice; didn't we have something similar last year?

Quote :
"Carlos Rodon projects to be the #1 overall pick in the 2014 MLB Draft. If that holds true, NC State will join UCLA and LSU as the only schools in the nation to produce #1 overall picks in the NFL, NBA, and MLB drafts (Mario Williams and David Thompson)."

That would be amazing.
