This could be the gray 360. It'd be smart if they included a built-in HD-DVD player and HDMI, then keep the price the same at as the Premium since this "Falcon" is a cheaper, more effective build. I'd sell my 360 in a second in favor of this.

havent done anything with madden 08 but its mostly the same type differences

obviously you dont recruit in madden since its nfl, etc...a few different buttons usually...they're always a good 1-2 punch of football games for the season

i thinks its about 800MB

you can play 2 minute quarters on varsity with either Michigan or USC...at least get a feel for the game...and if you get a feel for NCAA 08, Madden will come naturally

pretty much everyone has a hd, or will get one. think about it, the only people that bought a core were strapped for cash at that time, or that was all they could get at that time.


also, gow for the pc may be worth checking out even if you have already played on the 360. lots of new stuff is suppose/will to be there.

I was holding off on getting a 360 until the price came down, more of my x-box games were backwards compatible, and there was a decent NCAA Football title to play - sound like this is starting to line up a bit. Now I find myself hesitating because of all the people that end up with dead consoles that need to be replaced.

I read an article that said there was a 30% failure rate but it's hard to tell with the bias that always exists in the console arena. Does that sound about right? I might just stick to my guns and skip this generation entirely - and hope that some of the better games make their way to the PC.

you would be crazy to skip this gen of consoles if you are into gaming and wanted to play hahaha first of all free repairs, if it does brick. got mine at launch and no probs. a lot of the good games aren't gonna make it to the pc, or it will be like h2 and come all late. i would say if you are on the fence about getting a 360, wait until 65nm chip consoles hit stores. which is like a month or two. but in the meanwhile, i play my 360 and you stick to your guns and i will be shooting my guns!

basically just your name, address, and 360's serial number...although its actually located on the back of the 360 itself, and not on the hard drive

you keep your hard drive though...you dont send it back...that way you can just plug it into your new console and be good to go

and yeah i'm sure your HDD would have its own numbers but they're pretty much irrelevant for sending your box back...especially if someone bought a core and a separate HDD...there wouldnt be anything to link them together

I'm currently playing my HDD on my buddy's 360 while I wait for mine to be fixed

so? my xbox is more than just something to play video games on. Its the only way my roommates and I can watch hd tv shows on the bigscreen downstairs. plus i enjoy playing Forza 2 and DiRT and since its my money and not yours, i think i'll be just fine

on a related note are there any hints/tricks/tips to setting up everything (including XBL) that you all could recommend? I have never even touched an XBOX in my life so this will all be new to me but I assume its pretty intuitive but any advice would be appreciated

setting up everything is about as intuitive as setting up a computer with windows...set up the simple things like timezone and language...then set up internet connection, etc...its pretty straightforward and intuitive...easy to follow menus

pony up the money to get an HD cable box? dude i don't even have regular cable...i just have Road Runner. Its not that i can't afford it, its that its a waste of money to ME because I don't watch TV, i don't like watching commercial television, and I hardly have time to use it. My xbox and downloading tv shows is more convenient for me because A) its commercial free, B) i don't have to setup a DVR to record it and fast forward through commercials, C) i can watch it at anytime and keep it forever, D) it doesn't cost me a monthly fee. The only time i had cable was during the World Cup for the first few matches that I was here to watch.

not sure why you care about how i spend MY money.
