Theres going to come a point when sweeps aren't relevant. In a few years I bet we see big tv shows start during the summer so we can watch a couple of the "quality" shows year round instead of having to worry about Lost vs. American Idol, etc.

yeah, it's pretty retarded. extremely old fashioned and out of date
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweeps#.22Sweeps.22

Quote :
"Much of the ratings system, however, still consists of the completion by viewers of ratings diaries, in which a viewer records his or her viewing habits, generally for a week, in exchange for being advanced a nominal fee. These diaries play an especially important role during the four sweeps periods conducted in February, May, July and November in an attempt to measure smaller local market audiences in markets that are not covered by People Meter samples already. (Other, smaller sweeps are conducted through the year in the markets large enough to be measured by non-demographic meters, but not large enough to be measured by the demographic meters (people meters).)

The term "sweep" refers to how the diaries were handled by Nielsen Media when the ratings were first produced: They are mailed to the households and processed by starting on the East Coast and "sweeping" across the nation."

did i miss something?
am i thinking about another week?
i thought last time we saw them, Peter was uncontrollably absorbing Ted's exploding power and it looked like Claire was going to have to stop it. Now they're standing around chatting?

whew...well i dunno about you, but i'm kinda glad there's an episode that can't really be dissected all too much this time around. it's all coming together for an "end" to a great first season. at least that's how i feel about this one...

great episode.

Looks like Nikki/Jessica's husband was still alive in the previews as well...although wounded...and they were w/ Micah.

It's obvious whats going to happen - they've been focusing so much on nathan making a choice the past few episodes. He's going to grab Sylar/Peter and fly away and die from the explosion. He's going to save the city but lose his life.

pretty bad ass way to kill linderman, too

I'm kind of disappointed with this episode. Not that it was bad or anything, I really enjoyed it. There just isn't much to say about it.. nothing to speculate or anything like that.

it's called "filler"...hehe

and i'm glad there's one...there's been so much going on to lead to speculation etc, that we really just needed a transition episode

and a good series needs filler (see sopranos)

good episode. i liked how linderman died and i also liked that he wasn't untouchable. It could always be like inspector gadget where he gets away and says, next time gadget, next time...but it wasn't.

sorry to see Ted go, was starting to like him. he really had a shitty life - he kills his wife unwittingly, gets captured by FBI, starts to solve mystery, gets taken away again, accidentally kills FBI, is pursued, captured, kills more people, nearly destroys a town, gets captured, escapes, gets captured by FBI, gets killed by Sylar. poor guy.

Loved how Linderman's death came out of no where...just didnt expect it this soon in the series run. I think we know where the "Linderman Act" mentioned in "Five Years Gone" gets its name...there will be evidence that his death was the act of someone with special abilities, which starts legislation that begins limiting the rights of those with special abilities.

great episode, and is definitly built up the season finale as a legen...wait for it...of Zelda one.

sorry monday's the best tv day of the week for me.

I liked how everything is falling together in this series. A lot of different story lines have finally crossed over in legitimate ways (Bennet, Peter, DL, Nikki) and others (Molly Parkman) were made so long ago we had no idea they would be back.

The deaths of everyone in this episode were cool (Bennet's boss took 2 in the dome), unexpected (Linderman) or in some way necessary (Ted).

But I would think that Hiro would have stopped time for longer training with his dad. I mean he learned all that (however much it was) in what 2 hours? I'll drink that Kool Aid (for now).

The finale should be a good cliffhanger. I predict something along the lines of not exactly saving the world from the bomb and/or Slyar. I'm really happy I picked this show up this season

When someone makes the Heroes Season 2 thread, can they please remember to spell the name of the show correctly.

Thanks.

I have a feeling its gonna be revealed that Hiro's dad has some sort of time slowing ability.

I thought he said he had been waiting for a Nakamura to have a power, and he didn't expect it to be Hiro. But I like that...possibly immortal and he's had many many generations of Nakamura's, and Hiro is the first to take on his gene (or have a power like this one)...or if he's not immortal, between him and his sister, he thought the sister would but it turned out to be Hiro.

I was thinking along the same lines except that I was thinking his dad is the Kenshi (sp?) guy from the story.

that would make sense except for the fact that Kensei died in the story

i like the idea of it, but that would mean that this story that Hiro has put faith into is incorrect, and i doubt the writers would make the basis of Hiro's beliefs wrong

^Yeah, the Kensei story doesn't neccessarily need to be taken literally, just as Hiro's statement about taking out his own heart shouldn't. I'm guessing he means he'll have to overcome his fear, sensitivity, and pity to be strong enough to kill the.... VILLIAN!! whoever that ends up being.

I'm looking forward to the Peter/Sylar showdown, I hope it's a lot better than the last one. One thing bugging me though, why the hell are Claire and Peter trying to drive out of town? Why doesn't peter just grab Claire and fly away?

^ Well, yeah.. but Peter can turn them both invisible. I'd think he'd be more worried about his weak ass dropping her, but then again, she throws herself off catwalks so who cares.

The fact is that if any of the Heroes would use a bit of common sense then we wouldn't have any thing to look forward to on Monday nights.

The 2 things that don't make sense to me are why doesn't Peter/Sylar/Ted's clothes burn off when they make their fireballs, and why can't Hiro just freeze time and slice sylar up.
