Yeah he had it pretty rough. In fact before that I think another close family member died a tragic death. It's pretty easy to understand how a guy that went through all of that could snap when he heard rumors of some guy that may have hooked up with his girlfriend.
Hopefully he can come in and contribute and leave a better man due to influences from our coaching staff. I know he'll probably love playing for Coach Willis. He is supposedly one cool dude that all of the players love.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's what Pete Singer Sr. (our safety commits father) had to say about the staff and how they handled the recruitment of Rob and Pete Jr.
"When we evaluated the staffs and listened to them, I was reading the character of the men," Singer Sr. said. "I wanted people with high integrity who understand loyalty. this staff has been together 10 years solid. They are a pretty tight knit unit. Some of the schools you go to, a guy has been there five days, and the continuity is not there. They may be able to win some games, but you don't build a quality program that way. We could not find a program that was comparative." 4/30/2009 10:35:46 PM |

Fre'Shad Hunter says his top four are us, Florida, FSU, and LSU with us as his #1. He is quoted as saying we are his #1 because we were his first offer, are close to his home (cary), and sent 4 coaches at once to his school. He liked our spring game a lot and said we had more fans their than Duke, UNC, and ECU combined. Looking pretty good for another 10 ten recruit in the state. lol I don't know that it matters but his mom likes us best because it will keep him close to hom. 5/4/2009 5:57:07 PM |

Agreed. And it's not like the Triangle is bumfuck. It probably feels really big and opportunistic to a high-school kid. I know when I was in high school, I used to think Winston-Salem was enormous. I was wrong, of course.
Plus who knows ... these kids are probably kings in their respective neighborhoods. Maybe he wants to go to college and meet some ladies, but still have the bootycall ass waiting and ready. 5/4/2009 6:22:16 PM |

We have recently offered TE Kevin Haplea. He has a good offer list and looks to be legit. He hasn't been rated by Rivals yet, but Scout has him as a 3* prospect and the #6 TE nationally. If that holds true he will end up being a 4* prospect. Last year the top 3 TEs were 5* and 4-12 were 4*.

Seen this type of situation play out way, way too many times....kid is going to UNC. We rarely win these battles, and since butch arrived, almost never. Crisp was a big get, but I really feel that winning on the field this year is important to ncsu recruiting. UNC will do fine on the field this year with a fairly soft schedule in my book. 5/8/2009 2:45:00 PM |

Anthony Creecy: "NC State Is My Leader"
This past weekend Wide Receiver Anthony Creecy put on a show at the Nike Football Training Camp at UVA. Creecy is a 4 Star recruit that plays high school ball in our backyard, at Southern Durham High School. NC State is one of 25 schools that have thrown a scholarship Creecy's way, and at this weekends event, he gave Pack fans something to smile about. Jamey Givens of ESPN reports Creecy as saying:
"NC State is my leader," Creecy said. "Duke and Wake Forest are in the running, too, but I haven't been to any out-of-state schools yet. Once I do, I have a feeling the tables will turn."
Given's also had this to say about Creecy's performance this past weekend:
"While the wide receiver group was underwhelming for the most part, Anthony Creecy (Durham, N.C./Southern Durham) caught just about everything thrown his way. Creecy's athleticism and versatility has helped him collect 25 scholarship offers, and his play Sunday backed it up. Creecy showed he is more than capable of playing receiver at the next level if that's where he ends up. He collected MVP honors."
Creecy had a monster season last year, reeling in 48 receptions for 863 yards (17.8 avg) and 8 touchdowns. He stands 6'0 tall and steps on the scale at 196. Even though Creecy is a Wide Receiver, he is just as likely to line up as an H-Back, or in a 3-point stance. He shows tremendous versatility and can be used in many different ways in an offensive set. Creecy is handed the ball in the backfield or thrown the ball at the line of scrimmage quite often. In fact, ESPN sees Creecy as more of a Running Back at the next level. With that being said, in acknowledgment with his 17.8 yards per catch, Creecy is a deep threat, and is an expert in fly patterns and deep post or fade routes (He runs a 4.5 40). It is exciting that a talent of Creecy's caliber, in the Triangle area, is listing the Pack as his leader. We look forward to keeping you posted on his recruitment and we will definitely be getting some film of this stud on Friday's in the Fall. 5/11/2009 6:28:02 PM |
