"oooooh man does that bring back some memories"

for real.

The 2002 Warped Tour was the 2nd time I got to see Thursday and I was a regular poster on their official message boards at the time. The band also posted on there from time to time and knew a lot of the regular user names. I got to hang out with them at the end of the day during/after they were taking down their merch tent and stuff. I remember being absolutely stoked then haha. That album was one of my current favorites when I met them. The picture in my gallery is from that night.

edit:
Pardon the shirtlessness...it was like 98 degrees and I was outside all day and my shirt was just disgusting at this point in the night

ha

me and guitarguy were "roadies for a day" with them back in 2002 when they played a show at the brewery. we thought we were hot shit for being able to hang out with them during sound check/after the show and bringing their equipment on/off stage

haha that's awesome. In some ways I kind of miss being so "into" bands that I would get excited just to meet them or do something like that ^.

I know everyone is jocking Javelin, and if not then they're probably going to Gray Young and Bright Young Things at Tir Na Nog...

but is anyone going to Maps & Atlases and Tera Melos tonight at Studio B in Greensboro? Free show at an art gallery. I'm stoked, it should be fucking rad.

Yeah, I planned on going tomorrow night but I have to cover for someone at work, so I can only make it tonight.

Plus, tonight's show is free (donations suggested) and at an art gallery.

Benefit for local Raleigh legend Chip Robinson is coming up November 21st. (Robinson was lead vocalist in The Backsliders).

He was supposed to play a show a few months back at Slim's, had an unfortunate accident where he was hit on his bicycle (day before, I believe) and now needs hip replacement surgery (he's old, and shit).

good show for a good cause for those looking for something to do on a Sunday night.

always good to support those who have entertained you.... and Raleigh.... all these years.

give back, feel good about yourselves, and drink yourselves retarded.

They fucking killed it last night in Greensboro. Tera Melos was gnarly as fuck, make sure you get a good view of the drummer if possible.

Maps & Atlases were extremely tight. Afterward they came into the crowd and played a few acoustic songs.

The crowd was fucking awful and disrespectful, though. I imagine 506 will be better.

Yeah, Maps & Atlases were great last night at Local 506, and the crowd loved it. The guys from the band were loving it, too, and they came down and played a few songs on the floor after their set was done.

Good time, and I was actually surprised by the attendance. Got pretty damn crowded pretty quickly, definitely the biggest show I've been to at 506 (but then again I don't go down there that often). We ended up too far away to see much of Tera Melos when they went on but they sounded good.

Also, apparently The Posies are playing Cat's Cradle next thursday... it would have to be a fucking thursday night, so I probably can't go.

I was kidding with Neal because Neal never dances. Except for when he's on pot brownies and not surrounded by a lot of people.

^i caught the charlotte version of it and had a lot of fun. LW played a lot of new stuff and it sounded good (new full length in the works?) FI had their usual energetic show and had the crowd dancing their ass off. every time i hear william live on bass he sounds better and better.

I'll be in Raleigh for Thanksgiving, so I might be at the show on the 25th. Possibly. Maybe.

Also, I'll be at Minus the Bear/Tim Kasher on the 30th since a friend already has tix. Anyone else? And what is Kasher going to play? Does he have a solo album out or something?

Having seen Lonnie Walker around twenty times in the past few years and three times in the past two weeks, I can say that Friday night was absolutely the best set I've ever seen them play.

Veelee were super on-point as well.
