Are there any good pictures of the courtyard by the Fox Labs (aka USTL). That was a nice area, but the only one I could find was when it was first completed and the grass hadn't grown in yet. Some girl stopped me and asked me what could be down to improve the look and I said that I really liked it and that maybe one or two large trees would add to it. I kind of wonder what they did with that survey.

I like the area between Turlington and Alexander, and the grassy bowl in between Sullivan, Lee, Fountain, and Bragaw.

i have been watching Robert Crisp's interviews and highlight videos....

this kid is LEGIT took home offensive line MVP @ Nike Camp over all seniors, as a SOPHOMORE.

he has very quick feet for an offensive lineman, and its definitely noticeable that he gets his hands high immediately off the block. he's really going to be a stud for us. GG TOB for being an awesome lineman recruiter. it really is where the battles are won.

Just contacted the BME department about recruiting Daunte Carr. For the record, I'm an alumnus with no financial stake in athletics.

Could it hurt if a recruit was personally contacted by a department of his preferred major?

Also I don't run the risk of getting shut down like a student facebook group

a department that you have to matriculate into after your first semester and then be subject for review for?

yes, i would think that would be sketch.

if he wanted to call and get info on the program thats one thing, but the other way around is shady.

They're getting rid of the application part of applying into bme at some point, likely before his sophomore year would be.

what you are talking about doing is not wise
you / your dept would be acting as a representative of the university and depending on the time of the year then it could be a violation.

anything like this needs to be handled by the university

You guys are kidding yourselves if you think he will actually end up majoring in BME. The Manny Lawsons of the world don't grow on trees. Its always funny when prospects say how much they love computers and want to major in Computer Science. As soon as they set foot on campus they're in Parks and Rec.

welch is actually over in that group of 3 with gold and syme

berry, becton & bagwell are a triad too, but i believe gold, welch and syme are actually what's known as "the triad"

I always referred to becton, berry, and bagwell as the triad.
We had some frat groupies who all lived in bagwell, and they were "the triad girls"

Secondly, it's time to stop posting the tiki hut girls as being representative of the trim quality at state.. That shit was SEVEN years ago. If y'all can't post anything more recent, then we have a serious problem.

Yeah man, you're right. I even lived in Gold and couldn't remember that. Sad.

And yeah ... time to retire the tiki hut girls. Not that I don' like looking at them, but we need to move on. Pretty sure only one of them (amber) went to state anyway, and only for a few years.

I say keep posting them... they're classic

and the ratio and quality has become extremely better in the past few years

but enough of dorm names and girls.... football recruiting?

So what's the deal on Pete Thomas? Has he been offered by USC yet? Does it look like they will?

I know he's coming to camp (at least for now), when is that, and do we still have a decent shot?

It seems like Alfy Hill is UNC's to lose, even though he says that he's re-evaluating his recruitment. He is looking to make a decision in mid to late June. It sucks b/c it's pretty obvious to everyone except him that he'd get more playing time here and would be better off since we have a consistent coaching staff. Also I think Willis is far and away a better d-line coach than John Blake. You can look at some of the BC players that he's coached as evidence.

Yeah I don't have a good feeling about Hill, but hopefully he'll hold off a bit and let us talk to him some more. I mean just look at the depth charts, I don't see why this would be that hard of a decision unless he just grew up a huge UNC fan.

this isn't football recruiting related, but BC's only remaining QB with any experience (Dominique Davis) was suspended for academic reasons and will transfer...BC is going to be terrible this season, and frankly they deserve to be.

I think BC is about to start a run of bad seasons. They've lost some key players, then they lose their best player to cancer(hope he can come back) and now this. Not to mention their recruiting has been lackluster at best. They might have one more decent season in them, but I just don't see them competing for an ACC championship for the next 3-4 years.

and you're basing this on what? spring practice numbers? I have a hard time believing that a QB who has never played a down of D-I football is going to come in and kick ass, maybe he'll turn out to be a Phillip Rivers but it's more likely he'll turn out to be a Marcus Stone. Not to mention they lost Herzlich to cancer and Raji to the draft. The talent TOB left in Chestnut Hill is diminished greatly at this point and their coaching staff has experienced an incredible amount of turnover since he left. I think you would have to be retarded to pick them any higher than 5th in our division.

^for a number of reasons such as: not being satisfied with 9 wins a year under TOB and then talking shit about him after he left (their AD said something about how TOB was "no fun" and "the fun is back at BC"), for firing a coach that took them to two straight ACC championship games simply because he interviewed for a NFL head coaching vacancy, because their fans are total douchenozzles who think they are the Notre Dame of the east and have a massive sense of entitlement, and lastly because Bob Ryan went there.

FYI, I fucking hate BC.

I never said Tuggle would come in and kick ass, just saying he will be better than Davis(who was fucking garbage). I agree that they shouldn't be picked better than 5th, but BC will not be an easy game for anyone.

I don't really think Jagz wanted to be there, I think he realized he was terrible as a recruiter and took an out while he still had it, it was a smart play by him. He came in with a stout team there, rode TOB's players and then used it as a stepping stone into the NFL while "the getting was good." I don't expect he'll ever be a head coach in college again.

I think calling Davis garbage is a bit of a stretch, he threw for 6 TDs and 4 INTs which isn't great but it's certainly not abysmal, especially considering he was a freshman who had to come in late in the season. I think their defense COULD be decent, they have a lot of experience at safety and corner but they lost their two best LBs probably for the season, not to mention Raji who was a beast upfront. One thing is for sure though, they will struggle to put points on the board every game.

you're probably right about him not wanting to be there, and I don't think he liked recruiting at all, but he didn't need a stepping stone to the NFL, he was an offensive coordinator when he was hired as BC's head coach and he's now an OC again, so really he just made a lateral move in the NFL after his stint in college. But regardless of all that, BC had no business firing a coach who took them to two straight ACC championship games, they aren't Notre Dame east no matter how much they wish it to be true. They're gonna have a tough time finding a decent replacement after Spaz gets fired in a few years, why would anyone want to coach at a school that would fire you for trying to improve your lot in life?

I fucking hate BC and hope them and their 200 fans get kicked out of the ACC sometime soon but I'm not going to take their football team for granted until they actually suck. They were supposed to drop off both of the last 2 years with new coaching/shuttling out of TOB players and still didnt. This year would make more sense, but still, not taking it for granted

They weren't supposed to fall off that much in Jags 1st year because they had Matt Ryan's senior year.

They went 11-3
Last year they went 9-5
This year I would expect to see that trend continue.

I don't think anyone with half a brain thought they would drop off the season before last since they had a team stocked with talent and 5th year seniors by TOB including future 1st round draft pick Matt Ryan. Last year people expected more of a drop off than what actually occurred, but they still had a 5th year senior at QB (Chris Crane) and a stout defense (pretty much exclusively recruited by TOB) as well as the same coaching staff that took them to an ACC championship game the year before. Now their defense has been decimated by injuries and attrition, they have a bunch of new coaches and their only QB with any college experience just transferred.
