either I did a poor job of searching or no one mentioned this yet: they renewed for season 4 (but is anyone really surprised?)

They just need to renew indefinitely. However long it takes to wrap everything up.

I'm pretty optimistic it will keep going into at least season 5. I know it is an expensive show, but the ratings are still fantastic.

I don't like True Blood, but it was considered their flagship (moneymaking) show for awhile. The last 2 seasons (seasons 4 and 5) were steady if not slightly lower average viewership than their 3rd season and it still got renewed for season 6.

I keep optimistically hoping that the worst case is that there is always a +1 season out there beyond the first season that happens to drop in average viewership from the last. Hopefully we never have to worry about that though

True Boood's most recent seasons have been mediocre, but I still watch. GoT has way better material to pull from though so hopefully it doesn't become mediocre as well.

yeah they'll end up cutting and combining a lot in those books to make them work in a TV setting I'm sure.

Anyone have a link to a good refresher on everything that happened before season 3? I watched the premier and I realize I don't remember 90% of what happened.

^ i wasn't sure how to take that dialogue in the sense of either he wanting to do her in the butt or he wanting her to do him (since he was gay).

I haven't watched them yet (I will be this weekend when I get home) but it seems like that was said both of the first two seasons regarding the first few episodes. At least in terms of being slow (I'm not sure in what way you thought they were weak though).

Either way I'll be watching this weekend and excited. I know this season only covers part of Book 3 but Book 3 is my 2nd favorite in the series so I'm looking forward to it.

I wish I hadn't finished the books so recently, then maybe I wouldn't be comparing the show with the books the whole time. I still think the show is pretty great though.

Margaery knows what she's doing. Her tits are banging as well.

I've enjoyed the first two episodes but I'm ready for the pace to pick up a bit.

Can't wait to watch this week's episode. I finally was home and had time to watch the 1st two episodes this weekend and really enjoyed them. I didn't feel they were slow or weak at all. Maybe it is because I already know what's happening this season so I can appreciate the setup more than someone completely fresh to the story? Who knows. Either way I thought both episodes were solid.

Good episode.

Last two episodes weren't "slow"...just not a lot of action. This weekend we had some titties, Theon getting chased through the woods, and Jamie Lannister getting his hand cut off. People like shit like that.

was a really good episode.. i think Dany is stupid for giving up a dragon for all the mercenary soldiers she is buying. i understand she needs an army and all but to give up a dragon is not equal payment for that number of men/boys.

the dragon she gives up will probably just blast his way out, which is probably her plan anyways.

That being said...there are too many Game of Thrones threads in Entertainment. I almost accidentally post spoilers in this thread all the time.

While I enjoyed the episode, the seating arrangement scene had me in stitches.

I'm sitting here next to the Hand of the King.
Well I'll sit here.
Guess this one's mine.
Fools. I'm sitting next to Dad.
Oh yeah? Well I'm sitting at the other head of the table, bitches.

Very slow except for chopping off of the hand.

The worst edit is getting rid of the Qartheen gown.

it seemed like it was done after the script, the actress or producers must have nixed it. the dude even said "come here and show your tit".

awesome freaking episode; loved every scene. the hour flew by so fast which was disappointing but oh well.

i had a feeling all along Dany understood the unsullied master so to hear her call him out and do what she did was awesome. i knew she had a trick up her sleeve, just didn't know what exactly.

the thing with Theon really puzzled me. like why go to all that trouble just to bring him right back? was it a way of torturing him, to break him down even more? or was it to interrogate him more easily?

the Night's Watch internal slaughter/mutiny was unexpected for me, i really didn't see that coming. but i guess men can only take so much, we all have breaking points.

Keep in mind, too, that a lot of the dudes in the watch are there because they're rapists and murderers.
