This was my immediate thought when I first saw his last name, but the only source I can find for the claim is Gemini/Google. I suspect is may be a hallucination. Luol Deng does appear to have multiple cousins who have been involved in collegiate basketball. But if you specifically google for those cousins, this guy's name doesn't appear in any articles.

Going JUCO seems to have kept him under the radar a bit. Seems like a 7' guy that can rebound, block, and shoot from 3 like he can would have been more highly rated. He also has some Chet Holmgren-esque ball handling ability (though he also has some Chet Holmgren-eque turnover rates).

Some interesting tidbits in here. Allegedly we have made James Scott a seven figure offer and he and Trey Parker might be a package deal (same agent, same hometown). Would be pretty sweet if we got Scott and got Parker back too.

Also, there's some supposed mystery international big man they think is close to signing. I kind of hope that's the Chol Machot kid -- he looks promising.

Chol Machot is making 60.4% of his shots and only taking 4-5-7.5 shots per game. If he bumped his numbers up/down to 50% fg made on 10 shots per game, that would be quite effective as a big man. We gotta get those rebound numbers up to DD range though.

I'm half convinced Will Wade's crew is purposefully helping drive prices of top players up to make the teams with bigger budgets burn through cash they could have otherwise used on higher quality role players.

^ Yeah, I only mentioned him because I like his stats/highlights and he went to HS in Winston so there's an NC connection. I haven't seen a single mention about him outside of the Miss St. decommitment -- all the media analysts seem hyper focused on the last handful of top transfer portal guys.
