I played the Ace Combat demo for about 2 hours last night, just trying different shit. It's a blast.

I was flying through the bridge, and sideways between skyscrapers and shit.

After you clear all the threats, the mission requires you to leave the combat area. Instead of doing that, I hung around and kept dogfighting. Up until that point, all the enemy jets are easy to take down, but after it tells you to leave, you get attacked by some soviet jets (Su-23s?) that are impossible to shoot down. If anyone can do it let me know, b/c I couldn't.

^sounds fun...i remember playing Blazing Angels and flying sideways between different openings in the eiffel tower...that was pretty easy...but flying sideways through the arc de triumph and then pulling out without crashing...that was fun

In case anyone wasn't aware of this, while getting a "coffin" sent to my house, I asked the tech about the updated 3 year warranty.

He said, "well, that's not exactly true"

The three year warranty ONLY applies to the 3 red rings. Granted that's the main problem that most people have, but if you have anything like a broken disk tray, or something that doesn't cause the three rings (bad power supply does not count either, because the power supply is considered a separate piece of hardware), it's not covered under the new warranty.

Also, when they ask about the colors on the power supply, I tried calling this in at work but couldn't for the life of me remember, so I had to wait until last night. You say, "When the xbox is off, the power supply light looks yellow, when the xbox is on, it's green"

that's the second question they ask.

Also, when you get into that stupid, "Hey! Let me try and step you through some steps and see if I can help" automatic response menu, instead of saying "next" 10 times, just go ahead and say "agent"...it'll immediately send you to someone.

And someone said 4-6 weeks earlier in the thread...that's correct. They are so backed up, it's going to take 4-5 business days to get the coffin, and 4-6 weeks to get my box back...damn it!

Better placement when you hit. It's the one problem I have with that game. If you're off just a little, you lunge, dive, or hit a weak shot instead of moving a little to hit it squarely.

Spend more time in training with footwork and volleying skills. You'll get better. Took me a couple years in game to get my good enough at volleying to where I can put the pressure on at the net (spent too much time on baseline and serve at the beginning).

Really? Look, I'm not about to sit here and flame the 360, as that's not my thing. I posted that article so it could be laughed at for the garbage that it was. However, you have to look at the 360 objectively here. It has a lot of ground to makeup and money to be redeemed to prove itself as a profitable business for MS.

This is a huge Christmas for not only the PS3, but for the 360 as well. If it gets stomped in sales this Christmas by not only the Wii, but the PS3 as well, do you not think MS is gonna start to think "you know, maybe getting into this gaming hardware business wasn't the best idea we ever had". $5.6 billion is a lot of money to pour down the shitter, even for a giant like MS.

I hope as much as anyone that it continues to do well, as competition is a good for all involved, but there is a lot of reason to be doubtful of it's longterm viability as a platform and a trademark.
